Omg it’s like she’s my long lost sister... I’m so in love 😂😂😂 I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard because this is so true to how I craft it’s like organized chaos! And I’m totally on board with being a hippie dippy and knowing what’s in my products because the older I get the more angry I get at all the crap that’s being added to my long time skin care loves.

I luv not needing to buy lotion, lip balm, hair moisturizer and hope its good for travel. I like using bars for skin care bc of the convenience and lack of plastic used. Fun vid!

For lips I add the remnants of my old lipstick. dig it out with a toothpick or the tip of a sharp knife. There is at least 1/4" of perfectly good lipstick inside the container after it's been used up as much as possible. It colors my lip balm slightly and uses up the expensive lipstick.

You can reduce or eliminate the greasy feeling when applying a lotion bar by adding a bit of corn starch or arrowroot powder to your recipe. That will help your lotion sink into the skin faster too.
@emilyadam25492 жыл бұрын
Will the powder dissolve okay in the liquid oils though? I'm just picturing adding some and it clumping up
@ladysong2 жыл бұрын
@@emilyadam2549 hi...just saw this response. No, you don't need to add much. I'm making 300 lotion bars now for a special order and I'm only adding half a teaspoonful of arrowroot to the oils and butters. My recipe calls for 4 oz beeswax, 3 oz light liquid oil (I'm using jojoba), 3 oz coconut oil and 3 oz Shea butter. Makes 12 small bars. Just blend well and pour

@ladysong4 жыл бұрын
It depends on whether your ingredients need to be a specific weight or a specific volume. For example, in resin art, you need to mix the two parts of the resin in exactly the same volume. One of the liquids is heavier than the other. In soaping, it’s better to weigh the ingredients than to measure them by volume. Butters have different consistencies, so one may be light and fluffy while the other is denser than a mountainside Boulder. 😆

Can I substitute bees wax for Candelilla wax? Thank you for sharing
@cbugstudio5 жыл бұрын
We haven't tried it ourselves but if you do use it, substitute half the amount since it's a bit denser. Alternatively, you could use the same amount but then add more oils like jojoba or even coconut oil. Let us know if you end up giving it a try!
@dianecasterline37554 жыл бұрын
