Gosh I normally just add the eyes after the head is finished. I cut off the posts and glue them onto flat areas that I felt for them. Usually they have lids and it's strong glue so never had a problem and the head is so much quicker to felt that way! Love your work!

Hi Krysta! I absolutely ADORE your Kitten!! I was wondering if you recall the Site you purchased the 9mm Glass Safety Eyes? They're the most Realistic Cat Eyes I've seen so far. Did you buy them that way or did you paint them to look the way you wanted them to? I'm new to needle felting & Armature Needle Felting/Stuffed Animals & I'm going to be making a Kitten that's has the Weighted Poly Pellets to make it feel like a real Kitten, but I'm getting slowed down on beginning my project bc of the Eye situation. Any Side Recommendation for Supplies, that also sells the Eyes would be greatly appreciated! Thank you again! & thank you for sharing w/ us how you made such a darling, realistic little fur baby!! 💕
@kreationsbykrysta21343 жыл бұрын
Hi there Erin! Yes, I do paint the eyes at 0:15 with a mix of blue and metallic gold. This makes a sort of teal color, but the metallic in the gold paint is what gives the eyes shimmer. There are many sellers you can purchase eyes from on Etsy. Here is one like the ones I used: www.etsy.com/listing/578544062/9mm-clear-color-round-safety-eyes-with You could also use an elliptical cat pupil if you choose: www.etsy.com/listing/958175725/9mm-translucent-clear-iris-black-pupil I also have the supplies listed in the video description. Some of my newer videos include lots of links to the products I use too. Have fun!

Hi Again! I must've looked away during the Eye painting part & that's how I missed that part w/ you Painting them, but I rewatched the Video & seen what you did & found it even more amazing the 2nd time around. I'd really wish I'd found your Video for a chance to Win this Cutie pie, but I'm just happy I found your Channel now. I just recently lost my 17yo Black/White Polydactyl, Prince, a Week ago, which has been really harvesting bc my other Cat, Mr. Man (only 3yo & also a Polydactyl) keeps crying looking for him, checking in all his sleeping spots & them eventually curls up into 1 of Prince's favorite Spots (a Priority Mailing Box w/ some fluff in the bottom, Haha!). But it's heart wrenching watching Man look for his Brother, even though we let him see him before we took him to be Cremated... Him mourning his Fur Brother breaks my heart, more than it already is, so I'm determined to figure this out to make a recreation of Prince, but as a Kitten. 😺 It's still amazing how you figured out the 1 Color would give it that realistic shimmer! I truly appreciate the Links! Bc trying to figure out & use the correct wording in searches to find the Supplies you need, w/out knowing what stuff is called when you're 1st starting out & don't know the correct Terminology yet, can be really frustrating, so your response & Links were beyond helpful. 💓 I really do appreciate that you took the time to, not only, make such a Detailed Tutorial, but also Listed all of the Supplies & to boot, replied to questions (many Never respond, so I was excited to see that I'd gotten a reply & you really took the time to give me the Info I needed! I'm very grateful!). I'll definitely make sure to Subscribe to your Channel, to help assist me in learning the Ropes of Needle Felting Life-Like Animals, but my focus is going to be Kittens/Cats/Puppies/Dogs! Haha! Thank You so much again!! Please Stay Safe!!! 💙💜

Normally, yes, I focus primarily on pet portraits. However, over the last year and a half I have not been taking commissions. Unfortunately I have very, very limited time to needle felt at this point. If it is something you think you might still be interested in the next six or nine months, then go ahead and send me a message now, on my Facebook page or even in my Etsy shop, and I can give you more information. :)

Would this technique be good for making stuffed animals to play with?
@kreationsbykrysta21343 жыл бұрын
Yes, for older children who are pretty gentle, it could be. In fact, if you use wire armature, they can be fully posable too. I would not recommend it for any young children who might put it in their mouths or be rough.

Can I ask why you put the eyes in so early?
@kreationsbykrysta21342 жыл бұрын
When I use the safety eyes that have posts attached I find it is very difficult to try to add those eyes after much felting is already done. So I add them early in the process and felt them in place.

I have a question, what kind of mat should I put down?
@kreationsbykrysta21343 жыл бұрын
Well, there are so many types to choose from, and I have only ever used these foam pads. If you search Etsy.com for needle felting pads, you will see many options. I think they are all fine, some people just prefer certain types. The foam pads last several years, but they do eventually fall apart on the surface, and also wool gets in the foam, so you have to clean it from time to time to keep it tidy and prevent unwanted wool colors from a previous project contaminating your next project (like if I worked on my little green yoda and then this kitten without cleaning the green wool off the pad, it would allow green bits of wool to get into the kitten--not ideal ;)
