DIY Marble coffee mugs! Hydro dipped! Vlogmas day 15!

A = autonomous S = sensory M = meridian R = response or "The tingles" . . very relaxing to some, helps with sleep for many. It occurs with certain sounds, whispering, plastic crinkling, paper crinkling, nails tapping, chewing, ...so many 'triggers'! I've had it since I was a child, never knew there was a name for it until a few years ago. More importantly...this DIY...SO beautiful! Can't wait to try it! You'd be such a fun art teacher Joan!

Ok i love this idea but i have two Questions that i see no one goes over from the 🎥 i have viewed. Is there certain type of coffee mugs they need to be used in order to be placed in the oven.? Isit safe to drink out of because you are using spray paint?

Hey Monique! You can use any ceramic or glass cup. I used Dollar tree mugs and some crate and barrel mugs. Yes they are safe as long as you don't get paint in the inside of the cup. After it's heat set you can use them and wash them.

Hi I came upon your video I was looking for videos to do my old vases and I love how you did your cups I want to do that with my vases my vases are big and one is painted red I would really appreciate if you could give me some tips on how I could do that also would it leave a chemical smell in the oven?

Hi Linda! I’m just seeing this comment. I’m sorry for the delay. Use a large plastic tote, fill it with water and then spray the paint on top of the water and dip the vases. It doesn’t leave a smell at all in the oven. I have done it many times. Have the oven on 250/275 and bake them from 2 to 3 hours. Then don’t take them out of the oven until the oven completely cools off.

Thanks so much for watching. The water is room temperature and you can use any regular or metallic spray paint and use a clear gloss spray paint to seal it in. The put them in a cold oven on a cookie sheet bake them on 250/275 for 2 to 3 hours then turn off the oven and let it cool completely before you open the oven door, overnight is good. Then they are permanently set.

Hi! Thanks for the video. You are my new go to! Question for you-- I want to marble dip silverware. My theme is marble and gold and I want to marble dip GOLD silverware. How would I do the coloring with that? Would I still need to buy a version of gold spray paint to mix in? Thanks!

Hey Katie! Welcome Friend! I would use black and white spray paint sparky white then black and repeat it 3 or 4 times. Spray directly into the center of the water and the paint with spread out evenly. Then do a complete dip of the handle of each piece. Let me know how it turns out. Tape off the part you eat from and don’t forget to put a clear coat on it then bake them for at least an hour on 275.

Hey Mary. You can use any clear spray sealer/varnish. Any brand. Then you put the mugs on a cookie sheet and put it in the oven. Then turn the oven in 250 and let them bake for at least 2 hours. Then turn off the oven and let the cups stay in there until the oven completely cools down and the cups are cool. (Usually overnight) then they are permanently set.
