DIY Method for Getting Poop Stains & Smells OFF the Carpet

If you are dealing with a potty training toddler, a crawling baby, dogs, cats, or other pets who may be leaving you presents of poop on the carpet, this is a DIY homemade cleaning solution that will leave your carpet spotless and smell free of poop!

To Get Poop Off Carpets You'll Need:
Spray Bottles
Blue Dawn dish detergent
Hydrogen Peroxide
Water
White Vinegar
Paper Towels
OxiClean
Clean white rags
Baking Soda
Vacuum
Funnel
Measuring Cup
Trash Bag
Gloves (optional)
After you use those gloves and trash bag to pick up the large pieces of poop, or surface feces from the carpet, you'll move forward with making the carpet stain remover formula seen in the video. The carpet spot remover formula requires:
1/4 cup Oxiclean
1 1/3 Cup Warm Water
Few drops of Dawn Dish Soap
2 Tablespoons Hydrogen Peroxide
You can put it into a spray bottle or just pour it directly onto the stain after it is mixed.
After that's it's all about blotting and rinsing and repeating as necessary. The vinegar and baking soda at the end help eliminate carpet odors from the poop and leave your carpet fresh!

I do use oxi clean to pick up stains but for the smell that will have gone deeper into the fibers, come back at it with an enzyme cleaner like Nature's Miracle Urine destroyer, works on poop smells too. Pour a generous amount into the carpet, leave for 15 mins and apply the towel technique to pull up the liquid. Will keep the smell from coming back.

This method has the advantage that you do not need to buy nor rent a carpet cleaner. However I think you will need to suck up all the water using a wet-dry vac.

Well, what about HUMAN older child poo! Uh this is rather embarrassing, but I am in my late adolescence ready to enter young adulthood. Just one problem. I don't know the medical term for this but my intestinal tract ceased 'maturing' along with the rest of me when I had only 12 free annual trips about the sun! I am a 17 zo that has a 12 yo equivalent gut! This means that I have an extra sensitive gut tract and have to watch what I eat. It is not always an easy task! I screw up and the results are... well a bit on the messy side! It involves the big 'D' word, in other words the Hershey squits (Yes DIARRHOEA!) Sometines that becomes so unexpectedly urgent that well, I think you get the rest, embarrassments! This is hard on our laundry bill, and we simply cannot afford to go out and buy new clothes every time I wind up experiencing a diarrhoea accident. Just TOO costly! This video can offer good advice on saving on laundry expenses, I do hope! I feel sort of guilty, but this is a medical condition that happens not chronically (thank God!) but does become recurrent in a cyclic manner. Several days or even weeks go by without and incident, then BOOM! I get caught totally off guard, and a very messy accident happens! It is NO fun, and I have not many friends due to this one problem of having a weak child gut! I wish I had an answer, but until I do, well... I suppose I may even have to live with this condition for LIFE! Don't know, yet as I am just about to enter young adulthood and my first year in college! I have been doing fairly well in school considering the urgent and unexpected moments! Thanks anyway for the advice. So I am living proof that this isn't only a small child's or pets problem, I am an older 'child' some would call me such, at 17. I have become used to the teasing and just mentally brush it off and not let bad comments affect me. My folks have a nice washer and dryer set from Miéle a German company and a good product thus far. But my clothes and the carpeting (and occasionally bed linen) don't always get completely clean as some of the 'evidence' would be still visible. Anyawy, Thanks!
