Hey mate, I would strongly recommend using a catch can rather than a breather filter as you’ve done. Once that filter gets saturated, oil can drip onto your hot exhaust manifold causing smoke/fire.

How did you find your 10mm socket?

FYI unless you are running an aftermarket ECU you are pulling unmetered air into the intake with that cam cover filter, forcing the ECU to compensate the lean condition from the lambda sensor, not the best way to be running.

Are your cam gears adjustable? Why cut the valve cover? I'm not getting that part. Otherwise, the cover looks great after the paint!

😂 why do people still go crazy numbering plug wires? They're specific lengths people. 😅

@@0Happīkā0 you are right. Although it’s just a good practice. I’ve seen ones where there only 1-2 inches different and it doesn’t hurt to take the extra 2 minutes

The originally tube goes into the intake manifold (like all cars). There is a small amount of oil vapour that can get into your intake and gum up the walls, (if you have direct injection your intake valves can also get oily and crusty, but the injections on a Miata sit outside the cylinder so your valve will get cleaned ) Breather vents to atmosphere negating this issue, but oil will end up in your engine bay. Oil catch can is best as it will capture the oil and you can empty it later.

@@chinnerz2 can i delete the original tube then just run catch can to it ? how would the work with the inlet and outlet?
@chinnerz22 жыл бұрын
@@zackward9938 you have 2 ‘breather’ systems. 1st one is one the exhaust side wraps around and connects to the intake (before the throttle body) You can run this one to a vented catch can, or non-vented which loops back to the intake If you use a vented then you need to block the factory hole in your intake 2nd is your pcv system (after the throttle body) this one has to be non-vented. Ideal setup is to run 2 catch cans

What silicone and paint did you use?
@chinnerz24 жыл бұрын
noel cambara I did this on mine. Use any high temperature gasket maker. As for paint you can use anything that is made specifically for engine cover or brakes (usually 500 degrees heat proof) I used automotive 2k acrylic and clear as it’s safe to 170 degrees (Celsius) 2k acrylic will be more than double the cost of VHT wrinkle back engine paint.

lance bellingham I talk loud in person, and get my words switched around. I don’t know if my ADD has anything to do with it but always get my words switched around, say random words on sentences that make no sense. Studded. Whole bunch of stuff, not too sure why lol. I try to edit out a lot of the stuff and I guess talking higher helps with it. I try to get better day by day! Thanks for watching
