Girl if you had to pay for that...that's a full installation right there; not counting the holes she was fixing and the loc-smithing she was doing as she went along 🤯 Only a mother's love could have had the boldness to tackle this. She's the G.O.A.T. Period.

No one has patience like a mother does for her child. She's the real MVP. I had to do this when my daughter's hair got really matted. I took my time and over a two week time span was able to salvaged her hair and detangle her hair. Her hair was butt length at the time.😫😫 💪🏾

This is beautiful that your mom was able to do your reti. I hadn’t had a reti in about 6 months. I went today for $65.00 an hour my loctician took 6 and 1/2 hours. The base of my loc was to small so we decided to combine some of them. I now have two headed dragons throughout my locs now.

Most of those loctitians will not have the patience to deal with too much new growth.. glad that your mom decided to help you out in getting them back in tact.. I know this was a lesson well learned.. I was also thinking along the same lines but then I think she loves her locs this size. So to prevent herself from getting into this mess again,she should try as much as possible to keep up with her retightening schedule. Possibly spread it over a period of 7 days and she'll be good. That's what I do. In order not to get overwhelmed, I spread my retightening over a 3 day period and I have 227 locs.

The perfect example of Mama knows best. ✨💐✨ The loctitian acted like it was impossible because she didn’t want do it. But Mom proves it can be done. I knew you wouldn’t have to cut it. Correction: I shouldn’t have assumed she didn’t want to or that she thought it was impossible, but instead considered that she may not have been able to with her schedule, so she made a suggestion based on what was feasible for her to do as a loctitian. I would have also suggested as an alternative to finger detangle with a good oil and retie at home and explained that it would be a large investment of time. It just seemed like the loctitian offered cutting as the only solution, so maybe I misunderstood.

To fix her hair, it would have likely cost her the price of a new installation plus repair. Locticians who do this for a living are in a very strick schedule and usually are booked up months in advance. This means their time is not flexible. Moms will do anything for our babies, so she knew he mother would take on the task for her and save her that astronomical cost and unnecessary cutting of hair. The loctician didn't say it was impossible , the loctician gave all options to her that were feasible with what she was working with.
