I've watched my mom "milk" her plants every month since the 80's.. I thought it was just her weird hippy self.. Cool. Mom does know something.. 😂😂

It's always a big satisfaction when it's done... I do it with cotton pads... And new ones for every other plant

i personally have been using a lemon and water solution, and if it’s not diluted enough it leaves a sticky residue. i will definitely be trying this !! thank you !!

I did it. And it definitely had a smell. Maybe it’s because I hate the smell of milk in general and I noticed it more. But it’s definitely got a milk smell.

Same here. What did you do? Did you wash it off or just waited for it to go?😅
@user-kr9115 күн бұрын
@@Bianca-ip5po it went away eventually. I shower my plants a lot too. So that probably helped

Newbie here...how often should I be cleaning the leaves, and is this something I can make in advanced to use? If so, do I store it at room temperature or in the fridge?

I know this doesnt pertain to this video of the leaf shine but, i know u grow alot of avocados in water. I have started since ive seen your videos. I have 2 growing now one is pretty big but the pit has turned black, Does this mean it is dying? It looks pretty healthy. Also do i need to get a new vase or glass as it grows or can it stay in whatever i have it in? Hope you can shed some light on this.. Youre the only person i know that grows in water.. Ive tried avocados many times in dirt but, they always die on me . This time its been pretty good..Thanks again.

In one of his older videos he talks about how some of the avacado seeds die…. That doesn’t mean that the actual plant will die so no worries it will be fine, it’s the actual roots that keep the plant alive so as long as they are taken care of then the plant will be good. As for why your one’s in soil died I’m guessing that’s probably because it was over watered which is the #1 reason why most plants die. We as people think that we are giving our plants love by giving it water but we are actually drowning them lol 😂 so if you try again in soil make sure you don’t love on it so much 😂

Is not the proteins in the milk that breakdown the dirt. Is the lactic acid.

Do you have to wipe the misted milk and water off or can you let it dry off on the leaves ?
@bradcanning2 жыл бұрын
because it’s watered down, you can leave it!
@MooreDick2 жыл бұрын
Does this work on all kinds of leaves? Fig leaves are more rough, while this seems like it would be for smooth leaves like banana.
@chrishernandez92772 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t work at all, it’s shining Bc he dusted it. It’s not worth trying, if you just spray with water then dry them it’ll do that same thing. And even then do water sparingly Bc the leaves and rot with sitting water on them
@bradcanning2 жыл бұрын
it does help break down the dust to remove the whole layer built up. it’s watered down so there is no residue to go moldy and that does not happen at all.

@@chrishernandez9277 you obviously don’t know what you are talking about! If you were a gardener you would know that YES doing this is a normal thing and actually helps the plant 🪴 in more ways then just cleaning the leaves. If you look into what’s called a “ foliar spray” then you would know that there are many different recipes you can use like including fertilizers or things like Epson salt which is magnesium sulfate and gives the plant magnesium which plants all need! Plant leaves uptake nutrients directly through not only their roots but also through their leaves! When doing a “foliar spray” it works directly on giving the plant instant nutrients which is really good for ALL plants 🪴 the milk would give it some calcium which plants need. So why do you come on this channel talking shit? The shit you talk isn’t even true and you would know that if you did a little bit of research! Also you said that leaving the liquid on the leaves will rot them which isn’t true… when people do a foliar spray they leave the liquid on it and it will dry, that allows the leaves to uptake the nutrients, it’s just recommended that you don’t do it in the daytime because that could cause the leaves to be sun burned so it’s recommended to do foliar spray at night time. So stop being a hater, if you don’t like the information that Brad puts out then go to another channel to watch instead of “wasting your time” and talking your lying trash. Oh and by the way people aren’t stupid, you’re the one who “liked” your comment lol I can “like” mine too 😂
@chrishernandez92772 жыл бұрын
@@GodsChild145 well first off now I liked my comment so you can see that it wasn’t me the first time😂 second it’s not hating to disagree, I didn’t not say anything rude or harmful and yes even sitting water does cause rot, so how are you going to say water and milk doesn’t? It leads to mold and rot unless dried. You seemed to take my comment really personally, like it’s not that serious bud. I just pointed out that sprays can be bad as they can damage your leaves, am I lying in saying such?
@chrishernandez92772 жыл бұрын
@@GodsChild145 lastly as far as calcium goes, it can’t uptake more calcium than it needs so realistically as long as your soil isn’t completely deficient in calcium it’s not going to make it grow faster. Your NPK is much more important in strong healthy and fast growth
