My Granny had a very green thumb and she dipped cotton balls in vitamin D milk and cleaned her plants with it so that's how I have cleaned mine for years. It works!

Great question! Baby wipes usually have various chemicals infused into them so it's usually not a good idea to use them on plants.

@@pacman1789she also said use lanolin free baby wipes, if you read her bag too it also said fragrance free. The reason she said not to use regular baby wipes is because they contain harmful chemicals (like fragrances or lanolin), not all baby wipes are created equal.

Liquid soaps usually have harsh degreasing chemicals that can cut through a plants cuticle layer. That's why baby shampoo is recommended :)

I would think rubbing alcohol would burn their little leaves kinda like it burns your face when you use it on your face. My Granny used vitamin D milk and a cotton ball! She had a very green thumb! I personally would not recommend rubbing alcohol! Ouch!

Using rubbing alcohol, which is usually 70%, requires dilution at a ratio of 10:1 or 10 parts water to 1 part alcohol. Personally, with all the other options, even with diluting it, I'd use something else.

If you use them properly, they’re actually fine! I used it when I was an interior plant designer which is why I feel comfortable recommending this leaf shine product. If used on the wrong plants, such as monocots that have stomatas on the upper side of their leaf, then yes, it’s not ideal. But for other plants, I’ve yet to see any harm caused in my years of using it.
