Hi Shyra, I absolutely loved this room box. I bought so many molds from Temu but haven’t used as yet. You’ve given me some ideas now. I heard you say that you were thinking to make a pressed tin ceiling. I know for one of your other room boxes that you used a sheet from the Dollar Store which was great but sadly there is nothing here in Western Australia that sells anything like this. I tracked down someone that had a mold which was perfect but they had sold out and it was over $30 not including postage. I thought that was too expensive as I only wanted to use for one project. So ever since I have been thinking of things that I could do. So if you ever figure out a way to do it, I for one would be very excited. Love your channel. Take care and thanks for sharing. Cheers Robyn ❤😊

@queencityminis Maybe you could make your own. Use some string to make your center design on some chipboard and harden the string with glue, then put that design into a frame such as you made for the wall panels, but in a square of 1"x 1" ( or however big you want the tiles to be) then use a Heavy Duty grade aluminum foil (perhaps a double layer) over the cast and use one of those tiny ball tipped styluses to "engrave" around the details? It might work, but it would probably require patience! LOL Heck, I might even try it myself. I would love to try some copper or even some paper that can be painted.

I love those wall panels. One of my favorite ways to decorate is using these molds in various ways for detail. I'm so glad to see you're using the celery chalk paint. I love using the chalk paint because it's so opaque you usually only need one coat and a touch up. The celery gives that vintage green result that I love so much. Most of the pieces in The Josephine House kitchen were painted with that color. 😊 You can mix it with the clear wax for a shine or varnished look as well. And if or when it gets too thick just add water. I love the look you have created. ❤🥰 oh and I got so hooked on Bridgerton. But I really loved the queens series more. ❤

A clay clean up tool work really well for cleaning up plaster of Paris. It's the same tool you use to clean up greenware. It's usually curved triangle on one end and a flat triangle shape on the other, both have bladed edges intended to scrape dried clay. Kemper used to sell one, but I think they went out of business. I'm sure plenty of other clay/ceramic tool companies sell something similar. I first learned to use one in elementary school, so they're not overly sharp or dangerous to use.

I have tried the moulds with various media but always go back to Milliput because it comes out really well and is pretty much indestructable (well, pieces don't break off, I am prone to exxagerate everything lol!) Its good if you are using Milliput for a specific reason, and you have some leftover just put it into moulds so you have a stock of decorative bits, like you are doing, or tree branches/stumps, I even make jars out of it in the little jar moulds to make into stoneware jars.
@queencityminisАй бұрын
It cures quickly too, right? Cool!
@AnneAndersonFoxiepawsАй бұрын
Its usually hard within an hour or so and the different colours are slightly different in texture, or at least softness. I have tried the terracotta, white (which is definitely softer) black and the original which is a pale green colour when mixed. I think theres silver too, I think its cheaper than ApoxieSculpt and the packs are a really good size rather than huge tubs. Love it. I did order some white casting resin powder that you mix with water, it arrives either today or tomorrow its got a number on the front like 10:3 or something and its also called "Resincrete"? It looks like it would be fine in moulds as it doesnt crack like the clays do. I also ordered some of that nail art clear resin clay stuff because it was there and I thought it would make nice jars etc. Its all on Temu, I will let you know how it goes as I'm quite excited to try these two. I saw a girl make these light up mushrooms around a resin pool with the transparent resin clay stuff so it can be used to make lights too.

Hi Shyra I found the plaster of Paris less brittle if I use some wood glue or PVA glue when mixing it up. I did one part plaster powder one part glue and then enough water to get it to the consistency that I wanted. Also I did a colour batch using liquid acrylic folk art type paint. For that mixture I did two parts plaster powder, one part glue one part paint and then enough water for the consistency that I wanted. I did find however that the coloured plaster dried lighter in colour then it was when I was mixing it up, so just FYI. I got about 40 minutes working time using the glue before the plaster really got difficult to work with, however I did get quite a bit of bubbling and I don't know yet ( I still have to do some tests) whether that was just my inexperience filling the mould or if the glue was causing a bit more air to develop as it was drying😃

😅😅oh heck yeah! Why does chewy have the *best* cardboard boxes? 😂 the ones that my dogs’ food cans come in are so strong, I reuse them for everything. I got some of those exact same scrollwork molds to imitate vintage syroco shelves in my miniature tattoo shop, but I (stupidly) tried to fill the molds with hot glue and regular sculpey-neither worked very well, but I didn’t even think about liquid clay. I need some of the shelves to be half-round/need the scrollwork to be flexible; do you think the finished liquid clay scrolls you made could be flexible to bend around something round (maybe the diameter of a toilet paper/paper towel tube)? The hot glue scrolls were flexible when dry, but had wayyyyy too many bubbles/couldn’t get into the details very easily. Thank you for your videos! I can’t wait to see the finished version of this one, it already looks so rad.👍
@jessversusАй бұрын
P.s. have you ever messed around with using the metal from the bottom of a takeout tray + a ball stylus to make pressed tin ceilings? Might be tedious, but it seems like it might work, maybe tracing over a pattern /grid printed out would make it easier? I love the way the level celery green ceiling looks currently, but I can see the texture of a gold-accented tin ceiling working well here, too!
