I'm making a miniature kettle to accessorize my cardboard room box without using any clay. I couldn't find a tutorial on KZbin showing how to make a kettle using everyday objects so here you are! I made this kettle using a bead, paper, and wire but I give other ideas for materials as well.

The cardboard room box is only 3 inches deep but it looks deeper due to a forced perspective illusion. There's enough room for a fireplace, antique looking stove, a chair and lots of accessories. I made it using a damaged Home Depot box.

"Just as you can’t dispose of paint thinner by tossing it in the trash or pouring it down the drain, doing so with mineral spirits is also unsafe. There are a few key differences between mineral spirits and paint thinner, but the importance of following proper disposal procedures is common ground for both chemicals.
If poured down the drain, mineral spirits can potentially threaten local wildlife and groundwater. Likewise, you also shouldn’t put mineral spirits, or mineral spirits-soaked rags, in the trash can. Because they have a very low flash point, mineral spirits can cause a fire at temperatures as low as 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
You may not even need to worry about how to dispose of used mineral spirits. You can actually filter and reuse mineral spirits, eliminating the need to dispose of them altogether. After using mineral spirits for a project, place the used spirits into a clean glass jar. After some time, other substances, such as paint, that are mixed with the spirits will sink to the bottom, leaving pure mineral spirits at the top of the jar. You can then pour the mineral spirits out of the jar and into a separate clean jar for storage (be sure to seal and label the new jar)."
I have lots of projects planned ranging from abandoned miniatures, furniture makeovers, dioramas, accessories, kits and Dollhouse Miniatures in multiple scales. I also have a large Harry Potter build planned for 1" scale.

Great project! You can gently pull thin strips of paper or cardstock between your thumb and the top of a table knife blade to curve it. It breaks down the paper fibers and avoids creases.

So cute! I made a a teapot out of foil, masking tape and kitchen towel for my daughters mouse house. She was 5/at the time and it held up with all the rough play. This looks so much cuter - so it time for an upgrade. It's actually so nice that with her getting older and being more gentle and my skills improving I can improve on the house .

I love using the wood glue for shaping and added dimension. ..I learned it from a tutorial on the vintage train case set I made..creating the handles. And I agree with the mod podge you have to really smooth those brush marks out as even as you can with super light stokes. I saw those needle files at HF for $3..and I just got that set for xmas...I really needed them!! I love how it came out!! Cute lil tea kettle! Ugh..I'm going stir crazy on foot recovery..I'm almost to my breaking point..lol yesterday I started putting together this vintage miniature paper theatre model..and tried to film with my phone..didn't happen..lol

$3! What a deal. Some of the stuff at Harbor Freight is cheap and poor quality but lots of it is cheap and good quality. I can't get Mod Podge to dry flat no matter what I try. It's like it's made to show brush strokes. I'm glad you're keeping yourself occupied. That sounds like a cute project. At least share a photo on your Community tab on KZbin so we can see it even if you can't film it.

for a better acrylic wash experience try mixing it with airbrush medium. You'll get a thin liquid consistency that doesn't run as much as it would with water. You are getting the ridges in the paper because you are cutting against the grain and then rounding with the grain. If you cut in the other direction and round against the grain the paper won't crease. I love your videos!

Great-idea; Thanks for the suggestions! FIY: I suggest speaking-in a ‘normal’ voice for Your videos; it would be much more enjoyable. 💗😉

I think I have the hang of it now. Voiceover is the worst part bc of constantly misspeaking and having some noise interrupting and having to start over.
