I added character to the plain back of a kitchen island using wood slat trim for a modern makeover.
The Kitchen is starting to come together! Next up is painting the cabinets, and switching out the doors and all new hardware and finishing touches! Stay tuned!

This is absolutely awesome!!. I want to go for the same design and color. Could you please tell me how was your experience so far with this? I have kids and they often use this area to eat and bang on the wall with their legs all the time, so I’m just worried about the edges. Do you think it can hurt?

It has been great. My son bangs his feet against it too. The edges being sharp aren’t really a problem. The bigger problem is paint chipping on the edges because of the banging. It’s not been too bad though. We are coming up at almost 2 years and there are 2-3 spots that have chipped paint that can be easily touched up if needed.

Hi! These are 1x2 boards. Their dimensions are 3/4” x 1.5”.

Yes. You can - you can should use a strong glue like liquid nails but if you ever have to take it off, it will damage your cabinets.
