We chose a modern, minimalistic design for our DIY Under Stairs Makeover Project and we’re so happy with how it all came together! This is a great woodworking project that created functional storage while adding visual interest to our stairs. I love this project! I’m curious about the choice to have the drawer faces and false panels cover the baseboard moulding.

It was the look I wanted. Just a personal preference and should I change my mind it’s an easy fix.

I would coat the inside with Shelac and finish off with 1-2 coats of water based Polyurethane

How are those drawers holding up? I'd love to build something similar but I'm worried about the weight they hold and distance they extend out. It was smart of you two to design the doors to be full length so that when they are fully extended it acts as a support.

Thank you! They’re holding up fine and based on the items we keep inside, they’re not over the 260 lb load capacity. The full length doors are key or maybe you can include wheels.

They can hold up to 260 lbs and dips very slightly when fully extended and loaded up.
