For the last one with the cds or dvds it actually looks cool because all of them look worn instead of just a few😊💕

To cut the cd's easier take a hand towel and hammer. Put the cd in the towel and take it outside and break it with the hammer. Make sure you do it on the concrete (makes it easier and you won't dent the floor).
@NinaGRodriguez9 жыл бұрын
I started a mosaic tabletop on the third day of this school year, school is over in two weeks and I'm still not completely finished yet (from drawing the design, arranging the glass on paper, transfering it to the table, grouting, sanding, and re painting). if anyone does decide to do one I wish you the best of luck and a lot of patience because you're definitely gonna need it.
@salmarashad68679 жыл бұрын
Boiling the CD to make it softer actually works, and you could've used a hammer to break them like you did with the glass tiles.❤

Cut a slit in the cd and pull off the thicker layer of plastic (away from the foil) and there will be a thinner price attached to the foil underneath which is easier to cut

SOOO PRETTY! WHAT COLOURS SHOULD I USE?
@duamoeez45518 жыл бұрын
For the CD one, place the CD's in warm water from the sink. After a few seconds, the colored plastic will separate from the shiny CD part. Discard of the plastic, and cut the shiny CD into pieces. It should be easier to cut, as well as the fact that the edges will look clean and neatly cut. Hope this helps!😀

I know this is old but for the cds all you need to do is soak them in hot water and same for dvds but dvds have two Layers so after you soak them it’s super easy to separate the two making it super easy to cut perfect little pieces.

the CD mosaic look beautiful bc even if the edges was not so perfect i thought it looked like a cracked mirror which i liked so much bc every design may not look like what has been hoped for in the end and it turns out not perfect ,but that's when i think it's pretty .there is always the pretty side of it plus it will be unique and perfect in its own way , i mean who doesn't want a unique styles that makes everyone wants to make one like it , like that we will create a bunch of a hall new designs

i think the CD method works, almost looks like they've been sewn together. (very cool) Because of the CD that has scratched away. have you thought scratching all the fold off the CD and using it as a cheap clear plastic and using either silver leaf, or even tinfoil, beneath to give a similar effect? Also i know if you microwave them they crack all over and look pretty cool, but I would not recommend this at home as metal will catch fire in you're microwave!! but if you have a cheap microwave and a good extension cord, you can do it outside :) happy DIYing

I made a cd mosaic and the only thing that was painful was a small blister that didn’t hurt that much and I burnt my finger on the hot glue. My hands are not painful and it was very easy to keep the foil on the cd. I put it in hot water for 10 minutes and the paper peeled of leaving the foil on the cd VERY EASILY. AND the cds were kind of flimsy therefore easy to cut. But they kept their shape and it turned out well.

On the CD's...maybe a light spray of clear coat before using a tin snip to cut them. Tin snips come in left and right cuts and imagine these would be good tools for this kind or crafting.
