I'm making a moss pole out of natural items you can use throughout nature. Some indoor houseplants are climbers so its a good idea to make a mosspole so your plants can climb. Im going to try and mimic the outdoors by using alot of natural things such as moss and branches. Not only can some of the items used that are free but there are cheap option. I had an ADHD moment and forgot to hit the record button so audio was poor during the middle of the video. Pay attention Jack!.

I agree! If nature makes us calm n happy then I want to bring that natural element indoors too🪴My most recent natural wood project im working on now is another natural vine climbing piece using a whole slab of natural wood😁🌱

Holy crap. Ily already. Subscribed so you can teach me your ways (and I’ll be terribly disappointed if I go to your channel and see you haven’t posted in a year.. oh no. 😭). Gotta have some sort of fallback methods for when I forget to care for my dozens of new plants. . Cause idk wtf I think I’m doing. 😬

Look for fallen tree branches that have smaller mini stems/side branches cuz they can be used for climbers! My bf cut down a small tree n I took those larger branches that had a bunch of mini branches n used that outside in the veggie garden for my cucumbers n pile beans.. n it was free!😄

Do you sanitize your sticks and moss you find and if so, how do you do that?
@TheAdhdGardener
@TheAdhdGardener 2 жыл бұрын
I personally don't sanitize the moss that I get from the store but if I find it out in the wild as I forage in the woods then I'd boil it for a bit to kill off pathogens

I collected a bunch of moss fro outside, Oregon Coast. Do I need to treat it first? So fungus and bugs dont invade my monstera?

Nice ! If u just want to clean it soak/rinse with distilled water. If u want to sterilize then soak with distilled water n add hot/boiling water then strain

I have even seen moss poles made out of jute twine. No moss, just jute wrapped around something. It seems to work for her.

I made mine that way, I wrapped the jute string around a dowel. I tried tieing the end off but found stapling the end to the dowel worked better and also put some wood glue on the dowel before I wrapped the twine. It worked very well and looks good.

hey, aren’t the branches going to rot and then the rot might spread to the soil/plant? or has this not been a problem for you? ✨
@TheAdhdGardener
@TheAdhdGardener 4 жыл бұрын
I didn't find it to be a problem. All my vining plants have 1in+ thick branches holding them up. Water gets sucked up enough to where the branch end just dries up. Eventually over a long time it can start to soften up n rot(due to it being organic n in soil) but thatll take forever if its in a plant that only gets watered like once a week😁 try it out

@TheAdhdGardener
