I notice that none of the actuators are articulated at all - won't that stress them over time? Or is there something im missing?
@reptilexcq24 жыл бұрын
I wish i can do it myself. I think it's complicated...the fact that you have to make the software work with the hardware and then have to figure out what you need to buy and put everything together.

i am doing research now and what i have learnd is that i can buy a thanos unit and connect everything into it. Then buy a software from sim racing studios and there is no programing needed. Also join the facebook group: SFX-100 Motion sim owners group

This is a cool project can you add extra acts to give to rear step out, ie the rear of the car drifting a little
@Simon-jf6yp3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Some people add another axis of motion to simulate drift. This makes the design a lot more complicated though.

Did you have to get a sponsorship? The site says something about that and says it's hard for none german speakers. I'm looking to build a set of actuators. So any help would be nice.

So each actuator has to have it's own controller? Makes it more expensive and complicated than I thought. Do you think your build is better than a bought manufactured one - and what is the cost saving from doing it your way?
@Simon-jf6yp4 жыл бұрын
Yes each motor comes with its own controller. These are the ones I used: aliexpress.com/item/32844070107.html Performance is similar to commercial DBOX actuators. My total cost was approximately £1500. A similar DBOX system would cost 10 times this.

@@Simon-jf6yp Yeah that's quite an outlay. Good job though I'm well jell. Even a cheap commercial unit is a couple of grand at least. Oh well I guess I'll get some buttkickers instead :)

@@Simon-jf6yp when you say total cost, just to build the rig, then PC, monitor, wheel and pedals etc extra. Just started looking into this man it looks fun

Hi Simon, I'm very interested how you mounted you TV on the Rig I have exactly the same setup ,by any chance can you link few pic on the back of your rig please? is it a 43inch 4k Tv right? Is it steady? Thanks
@Simon-jf6yp3 жыл бұрын
It's a 39" TV using the P1-X single screen mount. It wasn't steady so I added a couple of extra supports at the bottom of the screen. I'm now running VR so have a much smaller screen mounted.

What was your total cost? I haven't look at all the prices yet but I'm very interested in trying to build this. Great excuse to get a printer.

I think the total cost of the 4 actuators was around £1500

How do the actuators cope with the tipping motion, since they are linear devices. Thanks.
@lucas0238911 ай бұрын
Allot of the internals are plastic so they bend a little and give some movement in the actuator

I'm loving it so far! Have just tried it with VR which takes it to the next level. Not used any flight simulators yet. Good luck with your build!
