DIY Natural Stone Electric Fireplace w/ Touchstone Sideline 72" Part II

Yea, when it's your own work, you are your own critique. Like the precut corner stones. Didn't like it so instead bought a diamond blade to miter the cuts for the same cost as the corner tiles since we had a 10' ceiling.

What an amazing job, and the best part about it is that the whole family was involved in it the kids will always remember that. I built a mantel for my family room and yes I have to admit I distressed it but that was the look that I was looking for and it looks absolutely beautiful. One question, are you in the construction trade by any chance? Or maybe engineering or an architect? The reason I ask is because you really did do a great job and the framing was absolutely perfect.

Great question. The fireplace is independent of the stone work. It comes out. Make sure to plan for this ahead of time.

Cement board adheres to mortar for thr stones to stick better. Using could be structurally unsafe.

I'm curious what the fireplace sounds like when the heating feature is running. A competing brand's fireplace was crazy loud to the point that we immediately boxed it back up and returned it. Any chance you could take a video of it running with the heat blasting?

It's like a quiet space heater. Movie watching is not affected if that's what you're concerned with.

Great video, planning to do something similar to this next month. its funny was looking at the exact stone tile at HD. Quick question, your soundbar is pretty close to the fireplace. Any issue with heat possibly heating up the soundbar? Was reading that nothing should be within a foot above the fireplace. Thanks.
