OK, I have 6-12 35+ pound raccoons in my yard. I use an XL live trap (36"x15"x14") and have many neighborhood cats, skunks, and Opossums. I set up a camera and baited with marshmallows. I watched four big boys sit in the trap, reach over the trigger, and eat my bait. I then put bait under the trigger, and they reached in, pulled up on the trigger, and took the bait without triggering the trap. Finally, I used this bait in a small jar and added some to the bottom of the trap behind the trigger along with marshmallows. The big boys (38+ pounds) ate all the bait with no trigger but came back in the trap to clean this bait off the trap bottom and I got them!

@@NBWildman I DID watch the video. I used to live by a creek in a small town and trapped and released over 10 raccoons there. Since then I moved to an island and see 6+ raccoons on my night security camera. Raccoons were introduced to Europe by hunters who sought to kill them for sport. But they weren't successful enough because now Europe is full of raccoons. They totally destroyed an old vacant trailer home on my property. How? I was keeping cats and cat food in the trailer accessible only through a very small cat door. I managed to fool them for 3 years but they caught on and it was all over. My one surviving geriatric cat now lives exclusively inside my home. Watch the hour long documentary made in Canada. Very informative. It is based on world wide research and destroys some myths about raccoons. They are destroying Japan after a children's cartoon there endeared them and caused someone to illegally import one. Raccoons will easily kill and eat a cat. There is a report of this happening in Tacoma, WA. I've learned my lesson: either get a dog or keep your cats & cat food indoors.

Keep your dog proofs separated enough so a coon can't get trapped in 2 of them because they will if they can. They really are idiots. Set 3 traps, get 3 coons. They can't resist free groceries.

Since he didn't tell you how to kill them once they're trapped I'll tell you. Sometimes people will throw the cage in a body of water attached to a wire and drown the raccoon. Sometimes people will put the cage in a plastic bag and attach that to their muffler and kill the racoon with carbon monoxide from the car exhaust... That's the only two ways I know of.

Do not use any of those methods it’s inhumane I’m not some crazy animal activist and these animals can be very intrusive. Just use something such as a gun.

I have gone to every store, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Dollar Store, Wal-Mart, I could not find anything that looked like the "Cherry Flavored" coolaid packet you showed on the video. I could not even find a google picture of it. Where exactly did you purchase that large packet of coolaid? How much did the packet weigh? Only packet I could find were the individual one drink serving packets.

Didn't find the packet like that around here in Arkansas Ozarks, but if you look online there is a canister of koolaid available that is probably the same amount. NB Wildman lives in Canada, and what is available in the dollar stores there and at the time of the video may be different from now. As I don't need that much I just used a small packet and cut the recipe down.

How do you use it around my pan sets?
@edwardshiffer95163 жыл бұрын
I was successful in one night with this mixture in my pvc sets. Out of four sets one was hit from a sand bar and the next set he was in. First coon ever!

I made this recipe up. Can't get it to stick to the plate on the end of the rod even after letting it dry up a bit. Suggestions?
