To add to O'Connor's comment, I also liked the finishing touches with the flap disc. I've been cut so many times by OEM parts due to the lack of chamfering. I must admit my jealousy. This is a project that I've wanted to do for the past decade. Never seems to be the time or place. Also doesn't help that Pick and Pull Salvage Yards are disappearing, or when you do find one, they're charging Dealership prices for this stuff... Great video! Thanks!

Nice & neat. i assume it's comfy, but in the long term how about the seat position, the posture? was it ok? i'm about to make a similar office chair but i'd like it to be "healthy" as i'll be all day long over there.

It is comfy and the position is adjustable in height, back angle, and pressure,... I am not a pro for "healthy seating" advices, but if it is made for long drives i suppose it should be healthy for office use too.

What software did you use to design the plate? Also did you remove anything from the seat or is this basically out of the car and onto that plate (besides cutting the rails and removing the airbag)

Designed the plate in Autodesk Inventor. You can download the dxf on my instructables page (link in description). Basically it is out of the car onto the plate, except changes visible in the video as you noticed.

why did you make the holes on the plate that connect to the stem off center?

Because the rails are not equally distanced from the center of the seat, so this way the support is under the center of weight.
