Was wondering where they put the oilfilter until now :) Do you have a video that shows how to change glowplugs on the diesel engine? Or where they are located would be nice to know

Hello, do you need some special key for this job? Because I tried letting the oil out with a 13mm and it's too big. But the 12mm is too small. Thanks for your help.

Hello. I have a Insignia 2.0 cdti and i can not read oil level on stick. It shows too much oil evey time. The oil changed by opel servise. Is it normal? I read many comments same problem about it from insignia owners. Thank you.

Hakan Akdeniz do you do a lot of town driving or short journeys? It sounds like the car is doing forced dpf regens and diluting the engine oil with diesel

TheRoverspeed no. I drive high way. There is no smell of diesel in oil.

Hakan Akdeniz That's really weird. It's the only problem I've heard with them. I have the same model with 200,000 miles on the clock and do mixed driving. I can't understand how the car gains oil otherwise. The only thing I could suggest is getting the oil sent off to somewhere like this www.theoillab.co.uk/product-category/oil-testing/engine/

TheRoverspeed Something I've noticed, when oil and filter are changed in the insignia the new filter has no oil in it until the engine is started. When it's started oil goes to the filter and dipstick level will drop, so add a little more and restart the engine, then turn off and check level again until you are happy with dipstick level. You can overfill if you fill to much at this point. I think level of oil in the filter housing can fluctuate slightly when new filter is added, leading people to slightly overfill. I've seen a few mechanics do this .

Say hello to a diesel.It`a common problem for dpf equipped cars(especially euro 5,6 norm).Change oil and filter every 6 months or buy a petrol car !

when changing the oil do you have to reset the sensor which indicates the life left in the iol or will it automaticly recognise that new iol is in it

To reset the oil counter, reset it on the dashboard making sure you have your foot on the brake. Select the oil gauge on the instrument panel then choose the reset option holding in in for a few seconds whilst keeping your foot on the brake.

no, your (our) car is not so smart. there is no sensor in crankcase oil for analyse. after every dpf cleaning process, it goes down for 2 procent, thats all phlilosophy! just check your display after process finished.
