Okay, so I've watched about 16 different tutorials (some of them by "professionals") and their finished walls looked terrible. Yours is so beautifully blended! I can't wait to try this.

I have watched a number of ombre diy-s, and your result looks the best so far. I like the gentle smooth transitions you made compared to the barely blurred stripes most people do.
@junlouiscasiano21578 жыл бұрын
tip: (example ombre light pink to redish pink..) get a white paint and a red paint.(10white:8red ratio) step: 1)mix 1 part red to 10 part white to create a light pink color then paint it to your wall horizontaly for about 1 foot. 2)add again another 1 part red to the paint left from the first that you mixed then paint it under the part that you painted at the step 1... 3)repeat step 2 so on... 4)be proud thats a nice wall you have!

Your attitude is great, everyone has to start somewhere, and with paint projects, there is always painting over what you may not like the end result of. I am going to Ombre a wall in my sitting room/home office in the next week or so. I am 71 years young and I am in good health, so I am going for it. I was almost going to spend near $500.00 for something similar on Wallisism which has beautiful murals and wallpapers. As I started to convince myself to part with my hard saved cash, I remembered watching someone do an Ombre wall years ago, so I am back looking to see how to go about it before I even pick out my paint. I know it will be Sherwin Williams Cashmere line as that paint defies description! Yes its 20-40$$ more a gallon than their normal line, but Cashmere is the bomb paint. It goes on like thick soft butter, it fills in and bonds to tiny indentations or scratches your drywall may have (my house is over 20 yrs old and I am not the first owner so it does have "imperfections" . I saw someone using the Cashmere line and decided right there and then to go to the Sherwin Williams store and have a paint talk. Cashmere comes in two sheens, one is a pearl sheen and one is low luster. I going for low luster for the accent wall in blues and the pearl on the other walls which will be the same color that I use for the base coat in the Ombre. I just know it will come out good and then I can sit in my massage chair and admire it while my old bones and muscles recover!!!

Even though you made mistakes your video is good. You clearly described your mistakes to make the video more user-friendly. Many videos do not show what could go wrong and if they do make mistakes they don't usually know what they are doing to turn it around or gloss over the mistake with no clear narrative. You can tell you have experience and great artistic instincts. You did it well and I'd love to see the wall after you rested and went back to fix the white. LOL!

it's much easier to blend the colors together on the wall as it is WET (you have to keep it wet) than to mix them in a container and apply that. you get a more natural progression if you blend the colors on the wall with a brush as you go
@trk89083 ай бұрын
Very nice first attempt! I realize it's been quite a while since you posted this video, but do you remember the specific colors you used? Or looking back on it now, what shades would you use for that tropical look?

I would have used a sponge instead of a brush, dipping 1/2 into 1 colour, and the other 1/2 into the other colour, and sponging to blend on the wall (the same way people do with 2 or more colours of nail polish on their fingernails).

next time do the wall in 3 section start from the top with the light color work down to your dark color. In stead of using a brush. use a sea sponge for fading .what a defiance. your job looks very nice. note: Do sample's on Pieces of sheet rock. the customer will decide what he or she wants. From a 2 tone through 4 tone ( tone mean shades) good luck. god bless

I like your voice it's cute and idk, thank you for this video, I could keep trying until I get it right but goddammit I've already put like 4 layers of paint, one for every failed attempt, so I'd rather just learn exactly how to do it...although this is an entire wall and my thing is just a 2cm line so I think I still have to try some stuff. This video is from 2014....fuck, that was 4 years ago...I WAS 11 WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I'm bored
