I appreciate the inclusion of mistakes along the way and their fix. Too many channels hide this crucial FACT and part of woodworking/building.

I have done some woodworks in the past but this woodwork plan kzbin.infoUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG helps me do much in a far lesser time than i used to do i have already built several projects with this plan and i intend to do many more soon. Thank you so much!

It's really refreshing to see a KZbinr make mistakes and embrace it. It makes us beginners feel like we can do it too. Thank you for that

A famous Henry Ford quote, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right," emphasizes how much attitude determines success or failure. Personally, I LOVE YOUR CAN DO ATTITUDE! I do not know how much training or education you have in wood working, but you see a problem or project, devise a solution and set your mind to doing something, sketch out the idea on paper and make it happen, and do it well! That attitude deserves praise! The issue with the grain raising after you apply your first coat of finish can be fixed by first applying a light layer of plain water which will also raise the grain, then come back and sand it smooth before applying your finish coats. This way you're not sanding away your first layer of finish and breathing any of the finish in along with the dust. I like the way you kept the heartwood and sapwood grouped together. If made for a nice appearance at the end. Considering this was your first build like this and you had not built this before and applied lessons learned for the video, it turned out spot on! We need to rebuild our aging deck first, but once this is done I may build this same design, although I may tilt the back rest on more of an angle and round over the edges so it is harder to hit them and split the end grain or tear out a splinter, and make it easier on my boney body LOL! I'm not sure how the weather is where you live, but I'm in Virginia where we have plenty of rain and constant humidity so I may put a final finish coat of Minwax paste wax on at the end to help give more protection to the wood from the elements. And those thin trash cans for coolers was inspired!

Very cool.. I bought a sofa for indoor with hidden drawers. Not pull out drawers. You take the cushion over and storage underneath. It was so complicated to put together, I had my son do it. Love hidden storage.

Mistakes are great for learning things. If you stay in your comfort zone and never make a mistake, you'll never grow. I'm sure you learnt a lot on this project...... like measure twice cut once, check your plans twice so you don't have to change the plans on the fly so the project will work. You've also tought a LOT of people what to watch out for when building something like this by having the guts to include your mistakes in the video! To many KZbin creators don't do this, which makes them seam perfect, it also makes it harder for people to have a go because they start making mistakes, few totally inadequate and give up. Thankfully more KZbin creators are realising this and including mistakes, thank you for being one of those people 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 This bench is AWESOME btw 😁👍👍👍👍👍

This is what we should learn at school. Imagine if everyone knew how to make his own sofa or bed or chair, I even saw a video about someone who built his own house. People should learn this stuff and we won't have any problems.

I think you did a great job on the outdoor sofa and what I like the most is the fact that you are honest enough to admit your mistakes there are so many people around that refuse to admit their mistakes and I think that's a bad trait because I'm make mistakes all the time and it's good to see that somebody else is making those silly mistakes as well it can be disheartening to be making those sorts of mistakes all the time but when you see other people doing similar things that you are it makes things better well done on the job great idea what I would love to see on all these woodworking videos is to get an idea how long from start to finish it takes because it gives you a realistic view when you plan a project and you have a better understanding on how long it actually will take plus when you have a better view on how long others take to make these projects your less willing to rush through things and make mistakes

It happens as we see in some tv shows things are looking so smoothly there but in reality it doesn’t always. That’s great you just showed also that part. And you did such a great job you could be proud of. This project looks very nice and useful for years to come. You did a super job 👍👍👍👍

Love the design. This will be one of my winter projects this year. The only change I'll make is adding some draw glides for the trundle and eliminate the wheels so it could be used on uneven ground a little easier. Thanks, enjoy watching your real life builds.

I liked how you show mistakes what to plan for in the future to avoid them from happening. The issue you had with the 2x4 being too wide is something I can see myself doing and trying to force the wood together when it had a slight twist or it was a bit too wide is probably what made that happen. Live and learn. Mistakes help us learn and the more we build, the more practice we get. On the finish, I saw another KZbinr use an epoxy used for boats and it looked really nice as it hardens the surface of the wood and it’s meant to make the wood waterproof in essence, like wood on a boat. The best part was how you figured out how to hide all of the cushions when not in use. Also the cedar planks was a very swanky touch and added a rustic yet chic look that’s super adorable and invites you to sit and relax. The hidden drink cooler made it “even more better”. I could see a bottle opener under the lid for the bottles that don’t open with a twist top. Stay cool in Arizona.

Great job! I learned a lot from watching this! I didn’t know using shellac kept wood grain from raising. Any time I make something with wood and use polyurethane, I go over it with steel wool to knock down any bumps! I am in the process of making a wooden table and chairs for our deck. I also didn’t know about the trundle casters. I made a trundle bed and wish would have watched this prior to that, I may have to redo the trundle part of the bed with my new knowledge! Thank you!

Really neat! I'd recommend putting the cushions in sealed plastic bags before they go into storage. Your storage is awesome but it's not water-proof or pest-proof. The bags will prevent the cushions from soaking up humidity or condensation or getting infested with creepy-crawlies. When it comes time to pull them out, they're clean inside the bag, you fold the bags up and leave them at the bottom of storage until the season is over.
