Hello, thank you for watching. When making these type of skirts I measure the waist of an adult or child and double that. For example, the suggested waist for a 10 year old is 24 inches doubling that will be 48 inches. That would be 24 inches for the front and 24 inches for the back. Of course you can adjust the measurements to your liking. That’s just the way I do it.

Hello Samantha, thank you for watching. I actually only used two pieces of fabric for this skirt so there is no waist to attach at. 4:03 in the video is where I start talking about how to create the paperbag waist and leaving an opening weed the elastic through.
