In this video series I will go over the entire process of putting together my Paramotor engine in great detail. In this part I go over preparing the engine case and checking some of the clearances.
Stay tuned for the next part where I install the rod and piston correctly and seal up the case... but get bit by one clearance I was over-confident not to check.

Good installation, especially for someone who got the Black Mamba cam. I was told by Arc that any cam with a longer than stock duration is going to need those lips ground down. I'm glad to see you addressed that.

I do have to wonder out loud about losing some weigh from the casting of the block. On all of the unused bungs inside the block for low oil shut off, and the top plate mounting "arms" sticking off (I know you use one for the exhaust, but I would think you could easily lose a pound or more with an hour or less of work. Just wondering out loud. Appreciate the in depth videos. Awesome work!

If you really wanted to use weight, the place to do it would be the flywheel (especially if the reduction is direct drive, with no clutch). The casting itself is actually very light and removing those parts would only safe a few grams. Another heavy part is the crank, but it has to be weighted a certain way to counter-balance the rod and piston.

Hi i like your work i want build a paramotor on budget do you think a KT100 YAMAHA would do the job? ive been doing some research theres some ppl saying i can modify a GX200 HONDA and it can do the job but i dont see people flying with that, best regards man!

Juan, I would honestly not recommend either. GX200 requires very heavy modification to make enough power to fly at which point it becomes unreliable. KT100 is flyable if you make a resonator BUT it has overheating issues when running on a paramotor at high RPM and is quite heavy.

Hit me up on Facebook (Dmitri Zyuzin) I'm glad to share other ideas. Plus I am a dealer for many engine types and some of them can be bought for a very good price. If you are set on building one, I can give you some ideas for possible routes to go too.

Dmitri...How often should the average paramotor engine be rebuilt, and did you do a complete teardown because of the customization? I've seen other guys doing 'short rebuilds' (piston, rod, rings, head gasket, etc.), but nothing as involved as this. Also, with all of the vibration issues that paramotor engines suffer, would you benefit from using Nord-Lock washers....like, for instance, on the exhaust coupling, among other places that vibrate loose? That (the exhaust) seems to be a weak spot in most paramotor engine designs, and I very often see them failing and causing engine outs (presumably from loss of back pressure)....mid-flight!!

Norm Jacques 2 strokes are a completely different animal. This engine is a home made 4 stroke and I'm rebuilding for the purpose of moving to a new case. I don't have that dodgy exhaust coupling to fall off and actually don't have a huge amount of vibration. Those washers are a very good product though and would benefit any machine.

Do you have a drawing or plans for the frame
@IrisPPG

Rusty, good question. I have a basic CAD drawing which includes the main frame (not the hoop). You are more than welcome to it, come find us in the Paramotor Homemade facebook group.
