I’m sewing DAGW dresses, mostly peasant dresses. Two thoughts. It’s easier to make the pockets first then sew on to the flat front piece. Another idea to avoid arm ache gathering a long ruffle, is to sew the gathering thread with a stop start approach, leaving long tails as you stop and restart. I did this recently, marking the long edge into 4 equal distances, so much easier gathering shorter distances!

@@Gmamajane1 When I was a kid we had a ping pong table but it was hardly used for ping pong. Mom used it to cut fabric.
