I have been dealing with calluses all my life, and my hobby of dancing made it worse. I was really ashamed of my feet but I didn't know the right way of taking care of them. Finally this summer, I started watching your videos and decided to start with feet care and now till this day my feet are so soft and healthy and I realised the importance of foot care plus my pain in feet lessen a lot from this. Thank you so much.

I just wanted to say you’ve inspired me to start giving myself at home manicures & pedicures. I’ve always been interested in nail care but thought since I couldn’t afford it that I’d just live without it. Never thought about doing it myself.. but since I have, I’ve accumulated quite the collection of nail/feet care products that I’m pretty proud of:) I even got my man soaking his feet in epsom salt after a long hard days of work. Your videos are my holy grail for self care & mani/pedi things:)

@abetweene
@abetweene 5 жыл бұрын
i dont blame you. I used these for years when i was younger, but i dont anymore, so by all means feel free to just use a foot file. It may take longer (a few rounds of soaking over a couple days) if your calluses are really thick or split, but it still works. Especially if you’re intimidated
@missjohnnyhayes

@@abetweene I usually just use a Ped Egg for my heels, but watching you use the shaver was really helpful (thank you). I never really understood how to use it properly and thought I'd end up cutting into non-dead skin. Next time my feet get extra callusy I might give it a try.
@kathykov1
@kathykov1 5 жыл бұрын
Please don't use it. Like she said it's against the law. Also the pediegg is nothing but a mini cheese grater. Find a good file and file away. But not too much. You could smooth it out too much and end up with cracking. But that's still better than slicing open your foot. Now to watch the rest of the video. I was only 1:15 in when I saw your comment. 😁
@terribabers2521
@terribabers2521 5 жыл бұрын
DON'T DO IT... speaking from experience I've done it successfully AND I have slice my foot. It ain't worth it😬😂 it HURTS like HELL. I now use a large grader like the peg egg, but it's larger. And follow up with a large pumice stone. Both I've seen being used in the nail shop. I found them both at the beauty supply store. The finish result is super smooth without being terrified of cutting myself. Good luck 👍👍

@potatogirl365
@potatogirl365 5 жыл бұрын
tyra same way as in summer - use the stone every time I take a long bath (every week or so) and file down all the dead skin. Then put heavy moisturizer, my favourite is one for working hands from The Body Shop with cannabis extract. I feel like friction from socks is working like peeling in winter + I don’t wear open shoes so they are less exposed to environment and crack less. And I can actually moisturize and enjoy it and not sweat it right off. Summers are brutally hot here.

Feet would tend to be more dry in summer because we wear them exposed and that dries them out, whereas in winter they are usually protected by socks. At least that's how it works for me.

What do you recommend for people who suffer with toe nail fungus?
@abetweene
@abetweene 5 жыл бұрын
soak with apple cider vinegar added to your water instead of epsom salt daily until it clears. you can also add tea tree or neem oil to your lotion when moisturizing your feet during and after as maintenance.

Staying away from polish, dark colors especially, is good too :) the occasional clear polish is fine tho.

the reason they are banned is by removing it like that you can damage the skin and actually are causing your foot to callus there in the future. if you use a (i bought it so long ago i forgot the name) but the pedicure thing that spins, it will remove the heavy patched calluses safer. i am loving all your diff videos tho! it started with the sugar waxing on the face and now im on your foot videos. great job girl. inspiring me to get back to putting the tlc i need to into myself

OH MY GOD I was NOT prepared for the callus shaving😂 last time I saw something like that it was when I was a nursing student and the doctor had to shave this callus off a patients foot because there was an ulcer under it. They were up on an exam table with their foot straight out (probably 3 ft or so from the floor) and when he was cutting the skin off I could HEAR it hit the floor. He used a scalpel though.

honestly its more about how often you apply moisturizers since we wash our hands very often and transdermal water loss is the problem.
