Everyone knows that only the hippest drummers put these rattles/shaker on their drums and cymbals. You can find them anywhere, but I thought I would try and make some. This is one DIY that is only really worth it if you have the materials on hand and are bored!
Check out Upcycled Percussion if you're too lazy to make your own!

Just wanna take a moment to appreciate how consistent your groove was for the demo. Despite the multiple cuts, if I hadn't known there were any edits, i would've thought it was a continuous shot. Simple groove but consistency is really really really important, with or without the click.

I really liked the contrasting sounds between the bells on the ride, and then the castanets on the ride. They both sounded good, but especially switching back and forth. It’d be sick to have them both on the kit, and just ride them back and forth.

If you're trying to make a bunch of those wrapped bundles faster, look into a fly-tying tool called a "Bobbin" (it's not like a sewing bobbin). This tool is specifically made for quickly wrapping strings around a loose or bundled object. Since fishing flies are generally held in an articulating vice for wrapping, and your project uses floppy strings, you may wish to replace one of the strings with something that resembles a large diameter, single strand, "piano wire", as it's sold under in hobby shops for use as a "Model Rocket Launch Rod". Once you get the wrappings on it, attach a string to one end of the rod before pulling the completed assembly from the rod. This will reduce the amount of "re-dressing" you have to do to the wrappings, as some of the space will now be filled by the final string. I've never seen one of these "bobbins" with a size appropriate for this application, but they are simple enough - in concept - that it should be no problem to build one.

Something that occurred to me while watching you make the loops. Check out some videos about making your own bow strings for archery. I think there is a fixture/jig used to help make the loops for traditional archery equipment.

It would be cool to take multiple takes like you’re doing in the video, and randomly have each configuration come in and out throughout the track. They all sound good together, so it isn’t an extreme change, it would just be some ear candy, that most people wouldn’t notice, but I think they would hear it subconsciously.
