You can take small scissors and trim the fur around the heart. I have done it and it works well. Also if you had separated the two layers of the blanket and just embroidered on one thickness it helps a lot. It really doesn't take long to take it apart (you only have to have an opening of about 20 inches), embroider the name and sew it back together. It also makes for a nicer finish because you don't see the stitches on the back of the blanket. I have an embroidery machine and make a lot of gifts for people. Hope you don't mind me giving some helpful suggestions.

I wonder if two pieces of solvy over the heart would stitch it out better. It great. I chickened out of embroidery on Minky.
