DIY photo transfer on canvas using Mod Podge Photo Transfer

Note: Forgot to mention in the video that you will have to repeat the rubbing process as many times as required. When the canvas dries off, white residues will appear so just rub it off again with damp sponge until you reach the desired color :) my output here took 3-4 times rubbing process until it finally clears off.

@@bekky49 hi so sorry for super late reply, i haven't tried using mod podge on anything else aside from canvas. i did not use any seal or extra coat on top and 2 years since i made this and the color is still vibrant, no discoloring, no fading happens, stll same like new :)

hi so sorry for late reply, i think usingt canvas paper might not work because if you do the rubbing process, it will get wet and the paper might get torn too

Aren’t you supposed to apply another coat of mod podge after removing the paper?

Hi. I did not add another layer as what I have is mod podge photo transfer. I think some people adds another layer of a different kind of mod podge (the matte one, I think) just to make it smooth looking (am not sure though). but i like mine to look like an original canvas paper and turns out really well. :)

Havent tried that but i dont think so cause it will dry up the same. You really need to repeat the scrubbing process until you reached the desired color i guess.

hi sorry for the late reply, i've only tried normal A4 paper printed in color. if its printed in photo paper might not work cause it might not get transfer once you do the3 rubbing process

Just printed it in hp laserjet on a normal paper. Wait until atleast 24 hours so it dries off completely before you start rubbing off the modpodge that way picture wont peel off :)

@@dianem7677 i only mentioned hp laserjet cause that's the only printer I have. I haven't tried other printer model so I cannot conclude that this method requires and applicable to laserjet only.

Hi. I used Double A A4 paper. I think any regular printing paper is fine. Printer is HP colorjet/laserjet

...no, because ink will come out after wet rubbing. However, I saw one project done with inkprint and it came out well (drying 24 h) , but in my project, paint came out. So, you need to try.

Residues wont come off at your first rubbing off process. You can repeat rubbing off the surface for 3-4 times until you reached the desired/original color of your photo. I didnt get the chance to take a video of that part but My 1st try took me 6 times. :)

yes, you can, use not too much mod podge, and distribute with a small sponge roller so you get nice look

Oh, you have to leave it for 24hours to dry before rubbing it off.

Love your demonstration video! I tried this medium and think it's a lot of work when I can just use tattoo paper without the mess and this is a very long method to get an okay result. Sorry Not your fault, but the photo transfer medium is not that great.

Mine was same, just forgot to mention in the video to Just repeat the rubbing process until the true color comes out. Rub off with sponge wait to dry, if still faded repeat the rubbing process. It took me 5 times to finally remove all the residue
