Oh what a cute pinafore dress! I have twin nieces ages 3. They live in AZ I need to figure out measurements and make this for them.

I like the way you added straps to the sides of the bib! I have to figure out how to make it more form fitting to a woman's body! Making clothing for children is a little less tricky in that regard! They don't have as many curves! Thanks for the tutorial!

I just make all the garments for my kids at least two sizes bigger so it last longer for couple years in any growing body shapes and then hand down to younger ones. Hope your project turns out beautiful! Thank you for watching the tutorial! :)

love this tutorial! & the colour fabric styling is so pretty. I would love to see some basic womens dresses/ garments in this style as well. Now that I'm making clothes for my daughter I totally want versions too :)
@MissSew4 жыл бұрын
The patterns for women's version has cut already! I thought this quarantine would give me an extra time to sew, but I forgot I had kids haha... but yes, the grown up version is coming soon! Thank you for watching the tutorial!

Can you make this without a serger? And if so how would you change the process in the video above?

Hi what measurements did you take?
@nicoleweight56153 жыл бұрын
Hi I am in love with this! Think I know my daughter's measurements for most, but did you just do double the waist length for the skirt? To give the pleated effect? Not sure on width needed x
@MissSew3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Double the length would give the skirt enough gathered look! for the front! Longer the length, the bigger the volume!
@nicoleweight56153 жыл бұрын
@@MissSew hi, thanks! So not double for the back panel? X

Hi, really love your tutorial. Appreciate if you could let me know all the measurement for the rectangular. I am going to try sewing for someone around your cute little girl age. Thank you very much!
@lyynguyen2142 жыл бұрын
I was gonna ask the same thing but then I realized we can tell roughly the measurements based on the healing mat that she placed the fabric pieces on !
@mollyporter43862 жыл бұрын
hi i love this video i cant wait to try it out. one question. After you measured, how much extra did you add to the skirt pannel that has the elastic in? im a beginner and finding it hard not having a template lol
@MusicallyInclined424 жыл бұрын
When attaching the gathered skirt panel to the waist band are you sewing through both layers of the waist band?
@jasminea21854 жыл бұрын
Can post the measurements you took? i think both our daughters are around the same age too, so it works out perfectly for me :)

How much longer does the waistband have to be in comparison to their waist measurement?
@delaneytjepkes18444 жыл бұрын
Does the button get sewed through the elastic then? Thank you

Love the tutorial! Very helpful. Will attempt to make one. Can I ask what age you made your one?
@MissSew4 жыл бұрын
My little one is 6yo and I made the dress to be fitted for 6-7 yo with the adjustable straps. so I guess it can be fitted for petite 8years old!

Can you help me with the exact measurements of your used fabric?
@preckles3 жыл бұрын
Look at the beginning of her lovely tutorial. She placed the fabric on a measuring mat; you can just count in inches. The skirt fabric is folded in half Hope that helps
@preckles3 жыл бұрын
I think I will add an extra inch and a half to the width of the skirt so that I can sew it together using a French seam; I don’t own a surger
@nelzlugatiman43862 жыл бұрын

Nice garment. But would have been helpful to show how to take the measurements on the child. Waist I’m ok with but what about the bib? Round the chest? Just the front? Etc etc
