I was wondering about attempting to skim the inside walls with 10 mm of pot making clay before the first burns to line the walls. What do you think?
@couldyoucook30853 жыл бұрын
I don't know enough about it to really say, I do know the biggest cause of cracking is dissimilar materials expanding and retracting at different rates. I would probably try an insulation blanket if I were to do it again, my father in law built one after me (and spent 10x as much mind you) but I recon the blanket makes a difference

@@couldyoucook3085 Thanks for the reply. I just finished mine following your instructions and it worked out well using perlite. Even looks quite posh. I'm just at the first burn stage with no cracks. At 70mm thick I used about 180 litres of perlite, which included the door.

Your pizza dough looks a bit too hard.Therefor I think it may be burn on high temperature. Also olive oil help burning. And flour for dusting is fine as long is not too much. I also noticed that you have blitzed the tomato sauce which make it look a bit orange. That is also not needed if you use good quality plums tomatoes or sun marzano just crushed with a bit of olive oil salt' pepper and basil. Also has being testing that perlite is much stronger, more fire resistant and more insulating than vermiculite. Only an observation.
@couldyoucook30854 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback 😊 the pizza dough recipe is not mine, maybe I will try tweaking it like you said. I struggled to find the sweet spot for oven temp Initially which caused a lot of burning, I now have a laser thermometer and if I keep the bricks around 400c it works well. I wish I had used perlite, but I am happy with how this oven is performing so far. I'm loving the blitzed tomato sauce no matter how it looks 🤣
@mare83794 жыл бұрын
@@couldyoucook3085 Of course personal taste it can't be argued. But I do like your pizza oven project and the way you've exicute it. I'm currently making my own one with perlite, and I was looking for other ways before making my dome and your video is the most accurate and the one I like the most. I am gonna fallow your way as I think is the best I saw. Thanks for sharing it.
