thank you man! This is how I imagine DIY. With basic tools which total cost is not more than a 100. Not as other videos - we buy a material, cut it with a circular saw on smaller parts, than use a table saw for exact sizes, Than a belt saw for something else, than a router to do nice edges, than a nice holder with integrated drill to make holes for dowels, than a tool for a pocket holes.. and so on.... I dont have a workshop full of machines and dont have a month/year to first do a workshop, buy/make tools for thousands and after make a single table or a cabinet. I also usually do and assemble everything on place where it will be placed :) So thank you. Really!

Thank you so much for this video. I particularly like that you made it with a circular saw and without a table saw, as that’s what many hobbyists have, at least in the UK

Point that speed square back towards you when using it as a fence. It provides more fence to start the cut more securely.

Nice design! I’d love to see a bed with a desk workspace on the other side of the headboard so that you could push the bed toward the wall and have a little separation and work area for video calls without your bed directly in the background :). Or a Murphy bed design would also be cool.

Pallet wood is the cheapest if not free if you have the time to separate and clean them
@raraavis77824 жыл бұрын
Colum Coyle Well...MDF and OSB are hardly suitable for this kind of project. You could probably use regular wood boards though. They should be available in large enough sizes for this. Pine is usually cheapest and considerably less expensive, than plywood. Plywood just has the advantage, that it comes in huge sheets, doesn’t expand/contract/warp etc. And lots of people find it esthetically pleasing, too. I‘m not really into it, I would use nice hardwood planks...but that would set you back a similar amount, especially if you figure in surface treatment. It’s a bummer, I know. I always cry, when I realize, how expensive ‚diy‘ is.

The base is too wide and long. You're gonna bash your feet against the edge all the time. And the corner edges will really really hurt when you step into then at night.
@kylepoole94724 жыл бұрын
“Less than $200” means $188. You can pick up a flatpack queen bed on Amazon for $200 so why spend all of that time to save a little over $10? Is your time that worthless? I made my own bed out of fence posts and MDF sheets. Cost was £40. That is worth doing.
