Amazing that you can do all that. I espcially appreciate and commend you for doing this project with your son. A lot of days not around like you are.

Brilliant Chris! The Storer canoe build was terrific for tips on low-buck and fun builds, but now you've topped it with the PD series. Thanks to you and family for putting these together. Great stuff. Cheers from Halifax 👌

You are so welcome! Yeah, even though this was a more complicated build, we finished it way faster than the canoe, I think mostly just from cutting out the epoxy. So much less time spent measuring, mixing, sanding, and cleaning up.

My favorite part is…”and…clamped the snot out of it.” Makes me laugh every time. I’ve watched a few times, because I am making a removable sailing kit for two kayaks. We might call it a kayakamaran.

One of the most entertaining builds ever! Well done. Tell me, what timber was used for your mast?
@LostWax2 Жыл бұрын
I just used whatever was at the hardware store, it didn't say, but I'm guessing spruce or fir.

Fantastic Effort Chris. Replace the rudder fitting screws for the transom with bolts ... you will thank me. Or how would you know that they were going to pull out if you replaced them!? But do it :)
@LostWax22 жыл бұрын
Ahh, thanks for that tip, I do trust that you have profoundly more experience in knowing how to not end up in a broken boat:) I'll most definitely swap the screws for bolts. Mind me asking what is the best way to seal the bolt holes so no water gets into the boat through them?

I enjoyed watching all your hard work, although I find it misleading to be advertised as "cheap and easy".
@LostWax22 жыл бұрын
Fair enough, though I guess it depends what you are comparing it to. For me, compared to the canoe I made a couple of years ago, it was much cheaper (no epoxy costs) and much quicker (no sanding all the epoxy) I am not actually sure what other sailing vessel you could build cheaper or easier than this little boat......
