I know two things after watching this: 1. I do not and will never have the patience to make canes. 2. That is a fuckload of of clay. That's like $40 worth of clay tomatoes right there. You are a great artist! Love your work.

Thank you for your compliment!🌷 I didn't like to make canes before because they never turned out good... I hated it! :( But I kept making them because I needed them for my other projects. After some time I discovered a couple of things: 1️⃣ FIMO "Professional" is the best clay for making canes! 2️⃣ I use clay with the same hardness because hard clay will push out soft clay while reducing/shaping the cane. 3️⃣ I use glass bevels - it helps me to avoid cane ends distorting. 4️⃣ and keep practicing! :) I get better and better with time in making canes. And now I enjoy making them! It is very interesting! Another thing: I sell my clay jewelry, it is my full-time job. So I need a LOT of clay and canes :). If it is your hobby, I would recommend making this cane (and other canes from my tutorials) using a few times smaller amounts of clay. Another reason I make my canes large - it is easier for viewers to understand and follow the process :)

@@polinacreations7729 wow! Great tips! Ahaha, making canes as a beginner is making me sad. He was right about the massive amount of clay used in this video. Do you prefer to purchase in bulk from Fimo directly?

@@BobSmith.... Thank you! Oh, I feel your pain (making canes is struggling for me as well!) It needs a lot of practice 😉 You are right 👉 I use a lot of clay, this helps me to show the process clearly to my viewers. And I sell my creations made from these canes so I need a lot of them 😁. You need to adjust the amount of clay for yourself 😉

Sorry for the late reply!🌷 Unfortunately, I can't say exact names because I used different clay brands and mixed them with the leftovers from my previous projects. Basically I started with warm red for the "peel", then added more yellow, translucent and white colors for the inner layers. The closer to the center - the more yellow and translucent I add. 🍅🍅🍅
