My Cricut maker 2 doesn't allow you to cut (only engrave) with the 40 gage metal or aluminum foil settings. If you have this problem, you can create a custom cut setting with your fine point or deep point blade at 320 pressure and 2 passes.

Nice way of using cans but I don’t have that machine. Can I cut one out by hand?

Hi Liang- You can easily cut the aluminum with scissors and if you are patient you can cut more detailed shapes. If you are planning to cut the aluminum by hand I would recommend using a glue stick to hold a paper template in place while you cut the shape. If the paper sticks to the aluminum it is easy to remove with a little bit of water. Thanks for watching.

Hi Donna - yes you do need a computer. The machine comes with free software and a monthly subscription option (I don't have the subscription but some folks like it because there are so many design and files that you can use with your cricut machine. But all that said you do need a computer to tell your machine which files to cut. Hope that answers your question thanks for watching.

Hi thanks for watching. We can recycle our cans here too but it is still a very inexpensive craft material. So I like having both options. 🙂
