Cool build. If you eliminate the rocker in the bottom at the rear it would plane off and go much faster. The hull you have is like a semi displacement hull.

Thanks Mike! Yeah I really enjoyed this build, it was a good learning experience working with Epoxy and fiberglass. I won’t have a garage space with the Ohio home, so I think I’m going to get into some CAD design and 3-D printing on the smaller scale stuff.

You're awesome. I'm looking to build a motorized wooden sup so I've been watching lots of videos with all kinds of creative electric, gas, and different hull material and design solutions. You did it most effectively and made it look easy!

Thank you! Are you looking ti make something high powered or more of a helping thruster?
@phallicsymbol7393 Жыл бұрын
@@JakeItsTheCops Not high powered but I want long range, low cost and not too complicated so I'm going with gas and prop. I really liked your setup. That 79cc Predator looks like a good choice for me but I'm still researching.For a short range helping thruster I would likely just buy one that's already on the market.

Awesome video, man. Nice work on the board! It got me thinking… I recently built a go-kart with a predator 300cc engine, put in a stage 2 performance upgrade (new flywheel, new piston rod, new cam, new valve springs, removed governor) and I upgraded the carb. Ended up putting out (as an estimate) between 15 and 20 hp. Would be so much fun to do that with a paddle board (if the weight isn’t too much). Thanks for an entertaining video, really enjoyed it! 🤠
@JakeItsTheCops10 ай бұрын
That’s awesome. Yeah idk if that would be too much weight but I definitely would do a bigger motor in tue future, like a 212cc. I was going for low profile on this one.

I was wondering if a 40cc 2-stroke would work (cause I have one ) 😁
@JakeItsTheCops Жыл бұрын
If I could redue this I’d use a 212cc. Honestly I looked at so many of the DYII builds on KZbin and it seems like they’re always under powered when they try to use a small motor… I would go bigger, or else I would use a very high-performance motor like off a 2 stroke racing dirt bike….but then the motor end up being really expensive….soooo yeah I’d go bigger displacement for cheap motors. 79cc was on the low end of power and that was after upgraded carb and intake etc.
@alessdiazlopez542 жыл бұрын
I'm new to the nautic world haha, do you think It's better the prop like you've mount than a jet system?
@JakeItsTheCops2 жыл бұрын
I’d say it’s just wayyyy simpler. And less expensive in that a jet drive for a small engine would be hard to come by unless you made your own. To adjust efficiency of the set up I basically just buy a different size prop, or shave down the one I have. With a jet drive system you’re looking at the size of the prop, size of the outlet, size of a nozzle, size of the inlet, lots of attention to engine RPM and torque curves for the best performance…I’d like to get there just not yet.

Do you mean from sucking water into the air intake, or just splashes and what not?
@gokhankeles8998 Жыл бұрын
@@JakeItsTheCops yes dont you think to put a cover above engine? May be this cover with some insulation material can reduce rumor as well.
@JakeItsTheCops Жыл бұрын
@@gokhankeles8998 so that would be an awesome idea but the problem is because this engine is air cooled, covering it would lead it to overheating right away… It actually got quite hot pretty quickly without a cover. I definitely got plenty of splashes on it but because the air intake is somewhat protected with the filter it really doesn’t cause a problem to the engine unless you flood the engine bay area. I will say it’s definitely not something that will last forever, a liquid cooled engine that can be completely sealed would be the best. I looked into those a lot and they are quite expensive.

@@JakeItsTheCops yes i was thinking to use 62 cc 2 stroke engine or 52 cc 4 stroke honda gx 50 engine. If they pull me 5 6 mph inside sea. It will enough for me. I tried with 34 lbs trolling motor but speed not enough and battery is problem expensive heavy etc.
