Born and bred in the South and I was made fun of when I said Q-pon and OffTen instead of Coo-pon and Off-en (no T). I realize I'm late to the table for comments in 2021 but better late than never! Discovered the awesome Holderness family and friends about 6 months ago and have been binge watching...when I have time and want a much needed laugh. So thankful for your videos.

Another tip: add wood glue to the base where the dowel is inserted, after it dries it will create a really sturdy base

I would say for more stability to put a screw in the dowl at the bottom. That would hold it tighter. You drill the hole and have a small hole at the bottom that would give you a guide to but a wood screw in the bottom.

I say Q-pon, and I'm from Wisconsin. Love this craft! I bet you could tweak it for different holidays as well if you can find foam items to drill into (large foam eggs for Easter, foam turkeys for Thanksgiving, foam Christmas trees, etc). Also you could use witches cauldrons along with the pumpkins for Halloween.

Why didn’t you all do a mock-up? You could have set the base wood down and put the pumpkin on it and moved it around to see what would have worked best. Repeat for every level and mark where you want the holes and then drill them. Also to make the whole thing more stable, but still be able to take it apart later, if you don’t drill more than half way through the bottom board then drill a small hole with a counter sink and put a screw up into the dowel rod.

Hey P Dawg I would appreciate it if you skipped the exploding pumpkin scene for the viewers benefit because it might traumatize them to the point of permanent emotional scarring.but if you insist on pyrotechnics then just lie to them and tell them it was just hollywood special effects fake blood and gore and wear long sleeve shirts for awhile until you heal up to just muted scar tissue.
