DIY Railway with Train Track Changes

In today's video, I want to show you how to make a locomotive and railroad out of cardboard with track changes. I really hope you enjoy this project, because it was very difficult to build! But the result is impressive!

That is really nifty! It takes me back to the '101 things a boy can make' type books of my childhood. If it encourages modern youngsters to try creatively working with their hands, and finding what fun it is to make their own things, it will have done a tremendous service to humanity. I particularly liked the point levers/switch stands made out of lollipop sticks. Cost would be nothing like $250.00 at all - almost all of it is creative salvage. Keep it coming!

Да тут "когда не прошёл медкомиссию" не только на машиниста, но и на путейца и рабочего тепловозного завода:) Вообще же проект классный. Есть какая-то игра, по мотивам MineCraft, так в той игре тоже всё картонное - деревья, земля и даже сам главный герой. И эта картонная железная дорога как нельзя лучше вписалась бы в ту игру. 👍

This failed for me. Fact is that in the curves the train goes up the curves. Not so easy!!! Not easy at all!! if you did it with such success congrats. The connection between the tracks is no also easy. I've tried with toothstick in left and right .. but didn't work!! This does not show how to solve this problem!! Honestly don't trust this 100%. This is looks easier in the film but is a pain the #$"%#$%#||!!

I have made extension tracks for Playmobil on a 3D printer, that is quite expensive. Printing 1 rails cost about 2 to 3 times a normal plastic Playmobil RC rails.

I hate to say this but i have 2 years under my belt as a gandy dancer aka track maintenance/construction. I know from experience that the ties in a turnout are not like then but in 1 piece just longer then the normal ones. 2 that frog is made crudely as in faster locomotives will derail on said jolts. 3 sadly the switch needs to be moved back just a little bit. Im sorry to post this comment but its just what i was brought up on by them older guys. Yes im young at 25. When i was a gandy dancer i was technically 14. Became a engineer 2 years later.
