Very nice job and great information! Thank you. I like to buy the Russell Green River knife blanks so I can make my own handles from Curly Maple knife scales, and then treat them with Aqua Fortis so that they look like Kentucky Rifle gunstocks. Track of the Wolf is a very good source for these items. I make my sheaths from cowhide and then cover them with beaded deer hide. Crazy Crow is a great source for beads. Maybe I'll make my next sheath from rawhide!

Northland visions & Outwest beads are also great sources for beads too! I’ve found their prices to be better than Crazy crow, Wandering bull, and, etsy in most cases. Good luck to you! Happy beading!

Great tutorial. Where have you been, and what are you doing now? Do you have a store?

Awesome tutorial! I’m sad to see that this AWESOME video doesn’t have a lot of views. I’ll be using some of this info to create Indigenous ( Mètis-Cree) style floral painted rawhide earrings & a knife sheath. Thank you! 😁

Boy do I feel stupid. I didn’t know there was a smooth side when I made mine yesterday and I didn’t know not to use the bone shaped ones. Thank you for explaining where I went wrong. It helps me for knowing the next time.

@Alonso Johan I see this kind of posts everywhere. I had no idea they would exist even under random low view bushcraft niech channel.

I had my doubts about the way this sheath would turn out using rawhide, but it turned out beautiful! I'm going to attempt to do a similar sheath. Thanks! And ATB Sam Adler

Im going to be making several sheathes out of rawhide, as it seems like it tougher than regular leather. Does it damage the handles at all? The almost kydex scrapping sounds when taking a knife out concerns me.

wow, i just realized what, "getting down to brass tacks" means! lol why the fringe on patch knives? was it only decorative? did it have any functional purpose? great tutorial. very useful tutorial. do the exposed points of the brass tacks ever catch on clothing or anything?

Native american women use to chew it to make it soft
