Nice. I have some of this differential oil on the way for my 2018 SS 1LE. I have 30,000 miles on it. Today, I got on it at a light and I had two warning lights come up that said service rear axle and service stabilitrak. I don't feel anything weird going on but every time the traction control light comes on, so does the other lights. The soonest appointment I could get was the 17th at the Chevrolet dealer (I still have a 6 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty), so I figured the least I could do was to change this oil and maybe that'll solve my issues.

Oh man, yeah I would do the change and see what happens. with the eLSD GM recommends the first change at 1500 miles I believe to get the break in fluid out.

I suspect there is a solid lubricant like molybdenum in the drained diff fluid with its dark color and material on the plug. Moly is a great additive for diffs and some transmissions.
@BROCKgoFAST2 жыл бұрын
Not sure. I know some of it is the differential wearing in
@sportscarnut2 жыл бұрын
@@BROCKgoFAST Not certain. The diff wearing in would show as metal shavings. Moly is black and does protect moving gears.

Reach out to me next time you need fluids! Got it all covered from front to rear. Price for the Amsoil gear oil would have actually been about the same believe it or not. I figured the OEM fluid would have been significantly cheaper so with that said why not use the better fluid? Suprise to see it only too that low of an amount. The GT350 takes between 2 and 3 qts
@BROCKgoFAST3 жыл бұрын
For sure will do. Is the Amsoil stuff specifically made for the Electronic LSD?
@THEDriverMod_3 жыл бұрын
@@BROCKgoFAST it's compatible with limited slip diffs whether they are electronic or mechanical. They also sell friction modifier if you experience any chatter as well. Electronic vs mechanical is just a different way of actuation of the clutches. Not much more than that. Their stuff exceeds all the GL-5 specs which is the spec for most differentials now days. Good idea getting it done before Sebring

Also the amsoil gear fluid now comes in a bag that you can just squeeze. No need for the pump.
