Learning to change oil is a great way to begin learning vehicle maintenance. Along with spark plugs which are inexpensive and also easy to change. Just be mindful not to cross thread your bolts. Especially the drain bolts for oil pans. Buy yourself an actual service manual for your vehicle to go along with the owner's manual. Invest in a few simple quality tools and you'll be off and running.

Believe it or not, knowing nothing about cars is complementary to femininity. Don't feel that you need to get into masculine things to be acceptable (yes, getting into cars is a masculine thing). Sadly, many women today are not taught how to be a female at all. Try and find womanly women, hang out with them and learn from them. Also, unless you've lost your hair because of an illness that you can't control, having a buzz cut is not feminine. If you look to the past, you'll find that feminine women were nothing like the women you see today. You should want to be more feminine not only because it's beautiful, not only because masculine men love it and do not love unfeminine women, but because you are a woman and once you get the basics down, you will naturally do it well. What you just heard is the truth and, sadly as well, the majority of people out ther are too cowardly to tell you the truth. I would say that most people on the coments section are too scared to tell you the truth that they will pander to you. Search for videos of feminine women and you will not see them working on cars. And if you want to get a full dose of real women, search for videos of biblical women. Regardless of how you feel about religion, those women are super feminine and super ladylike. They will give you the best advice. Reunite with your femininity and leave the masculine things to men, there are enough men around to handle the job (including your husband or future husband).

@@Freezinggreece2 Last year, I bought a '94 F-150 that came out of Tennessee. Turned out to be a '94 cab on a '92 frame. I flushed EVERYTHING - even the rear differential and brake fluid. It's a great truck in that you can even drain the torque converter fully. But I figured if it was a junkyard Frankenstein then I better do a thorough job if I wanted it to last. Had to rebuild all four brakes, too. I found that an oil pan off of a 4x4 will fit on this 2 wheel drive truck. The 4x4 pan has a drain plug. How nice. This video gave me the confidence to get it done myself, and I'm so grateful! I even got extra thorough and did a complete flush of the coolant, complete drain of the transmission (including the torque converter, which had a drain plug), and I removed, cleaned, and painted the differential covers. It was actually fun! I just finished the job and took it out for a joy ride and she runs beautifully! So stoked! Next I'm moving on to your video about detailing the engine bay. It's covered in old grease and stays hot for a while after shutting off, so I think cleaning it will help a lot. Thanks Chris!

@flagmichael4 жыл бұрын
Probably good to mention at this point that if the oil level is _above_ the full mark it should be seen by a diesel mechanic. This is a symptom of a fairly common diesel problem caused by a combination of a restricted DPF and a fouled EGR valve, but whatever the cause it probably means the oil is being diluted by diesel fuel. Black is good, too much is bad.

A little addition to the transmission oil change: some cars have two bolts, one drain plug and one plug above to fill it with oil. The important thing is: always loosen the filler plug first, then the drain plug. This way you can make sure that you have oil in the transmission incase the filler bolt is rusted and won't come out. If it doesn't you could still drive to the professionals to have it fixed.
