I'm in the anti 'floaty bit' group...it's not just the clean up, it's having them potentially sticking to me in places I don't want them. But I love me some nice bath salts and I different salts, scents and light colorants. And I package them in in the heat sealed window pouches. For family...I do fancy glass jars with scoops that can be refilled. I use a regular iron to seal my bags and I label them BEFORE I fill them as it is easier.

Hi I tried your bath salt with the black or deep purple himalayan salt added to it. I've found it didn't smell very nice while running the tub. It smelt like rotting eggs. I didn't know it was that at 1st as I put in several different things but now I know its definitely that as I've looked it up. Black himalayan salt has a high sulfur content which gives of a pungent egg smell. Just thought you would like to know.

Great video, Ellen! Have you tried coloring your bath salts? I have used both color mica powder made for soap and food-grade dye (IE: for cakes, etc.), and I've found that after about 3 months on the shelf, they will start to fade and/or discolor. It's just a natural chemical reaction from the salts. Just curious if you've experienced that before or have any suggestions on how to prolong the shelf life / color.

I haven't had that experience, but I know some F.O's can be finicky sometimes...

I put mine in the oven on the lowest setting which is 170 degrees for 15 minutes and stirred every 5 minutes and they still look "wet". Should I put them back in the oven and rebake them or let them dry for another day? I used the same ratio (0.50 fragrance and 0.50 Poly 80).

Hmmm, you could try a bit longer in the oven. Or add more salts and even some baking soda for more dry ingredients..

Hi Ellen, I am very new to all this and just loving your videos. You have assembled some really classy and beautiful items to share with everyone. God bless you for that. I was just wondering about this bath salt mixture. Would add in some baking soda and one of those other items you use in your bath bombs create the fizzy thing in the bathtub if you add it to this bath salt mixture?

Yes, you could add in some baking soda and citric acid to make some fizz👍
