Make sure you aren't over watering your rose's they don't need as much in the winter months. As cutting them back before it gets to cold or waiting until spring. Love love love your walkway. I want to say yellowing comes from a fungus. Don't water after 5pm. They get "wet feet" and develop a fungus. They need to dry out and yes they can go w/o water during winter weather. Somewhat like succulents.

I definitely like landscape design 2 the most. The curved borders will help give that whimsical cottage feel, I also love the inclusion of the evergreens. Gotta have that winter interest! Design 2 just seems to flow so nicely and it matches really well. I thought design 1 was nice also but maybe a bit too haphazard.

A suggestion for your roses... you may be over watering or the soil may not be draining very well if the leaves are yellowing. Roses are not quite the same as trees when the seasons turn. 💜💚 Loving your vlogmas videos!

For your chair, you could get a cushion to sit on, it'll not only help to correct the height but also helps with posture. I got one of those to correct my posture while i sit, also got the pillow for my back and it has helped so much

Have you looked into native plants for landscaping. There are usually options instead of grass that require less maintenance and water which might be a good idea for a house you are not in all the time.

Aww dear, I am so sorry to hear about Blondie. As the proud cat mom to a current 10 cats and many more before these, I know how hard it is to lose one. I have my own version of a Blondie in Miss Marsha who was Marshmallow in a previous home. Pets sure leave their place in our hearts and I know it will take awhile for that ache to heal. Just remember when you’re ready, there’ll be another precious kitty just waiting to make its place in your home. Rest easy and take care.

I enjoy your videos. Just a kitchen tip for you; when draining hot liquids down your sink turn on the cold water at the same time It will save your sink and pipes in the long run. You have been doing a great job on your cottage

So good! Fyi, as the sand between the pavers settles, you'll have to sweep on a bit more over time. It just makes it more tight and firm so there's less shifting and seeds will have a harder ti.e starting in the cracks.

Girl, that rose 🥀 is over watered. They love lots of sunshine, dry feet, are everygreen and need nutrients and minerals if suffering like that. Pruning also helps.

Fix the height disparity in dining room by buying rubber ferrules for the chair legs. This will increase their height and make them silent for pulling and tucking back under the table. Also felted pads. So table stays intact.

It’s so crazy that it’s 80° in Texas, as well as the 38°, I live in Northern Idaho and it was 1° this morning with a high of 21°, and 18” of snow on the ground. Love your vlogmas series, I adored it last year.

I haven't watched the paver video yet, but I hope you plan to add a step so it's easier to get onto the deck. I'm in my mid 60s and can no longer "hop" up onto a tall step. I went to deliver some of my neighbors' mail that was left with mine. They don't have a railing and I couldn't get up onto their step unless I took a running start. Pretty comical. There's much you can do now to prepare your garden beds. Add bags of soil amendments and let Mother Nature handle the rest. I have new beds I'm doing that very thing to while a blanket of snow covers the soil. Worms will mix everything together for you. 🐛 Just know that whatever you do decide to plant in the form of shrubs or perennials, plant them with future mature size in mind. Too often, people place their shrubs closer to the house because they look good at that size then regret it because they grew up and out and repositioning later is very difficult.

Oh my goodness MaCenna I was laughing out loud at you sitting at the table. I have chairs very similar to yours and my table is too high as well, we look just like you sitting at it. I have thought about lowering the table but don’t want to mess with it either. Then I got to thinking what about removing the seats from the chairs and adding a piece of wood to lift the chairs a few inches, then staining the extra seats to match. Do you think this would work? If you think this is a good idea I will watch you figure it out then I will follow your example. LOL You are so amazingly clever at all this stuff. I love everything you do!

Best time to plant and transplant is the fall and spring. Then, 3 weeks of soak watering so roots can establish themselves. Watering before the cold also helps the plants survive colder weather.

16:15 yes, darkness makes you get sleepy sooner. It releases melatonin and all that, and is hard for seasonal depression with the lack of light and vitamin D. I'm not a master gardener or anything, but your roses look like they're really reaching for the light, so I don't think that spot on the porch is good for them, and the leaves aren't supposed to yellow like that. The walkway looks great!

I enjoy Vlogmas so much ! Very nice job you and Romeo did on your walkway ! I think you could very well mix ideas from each of the landscape designers' propositions : curved flower beds, pergola, swing... I don't know how it is with municipal laws in Texas but here in Quebec, there is a part of our front yards that borders the sidewalk or, if there is no sidewalk, the street that belongs to the municipality in case they have to work on something in the ground or on the road. I think it is 3 feets wide. It may be the reason why the designers didn't suggest planting outside the fence. Here, I think we can plant in that section put it's at our risk of seing it destroyed by road works so no one do permanent landscaping there, just grass and easily replaced flowers, maybe.

I live in NC and our weather is the exact same. It is the perfect weather for getting sick unfortunately. Winter here is crazy. Lots of times Christmas is short sleeves. January, February is our coldest months but even some times these months get to the 70°F.

Looks great! Personally, I'd prefer lush, but less busy landscaping. In a small space, classic and simple (more 'zen') would provide better balance with the house than trying to introduce tons of different colors and plant varieties. You want the space to make you feel 'Ahhhhhh..' not appear cluttered. The bricks of the walkway end shy of the porch skirting. Too close for a step, or steps, in between. Curious how a step/s will be added into your design.

You were talking about being particular about the music you choose and I totally get that. I'm a wedding videographer and it takes me literal days to pick the music. I was wondering if you had considered a musicbed subscription? You really can't beat the selection, it's the best there is. I get nothing for suggesting this obviously...I just know it makes the music selecting process a lot easier. You can search by genre, mood, feeling, tempo etc...you can select attributes like chill, feel good, indie, all the things you talked about! Hope that helps!

Climbing roses for the fence 😊 because they'll be pretty good all year. Clematis is vibing, but I believe they die back tremendously over winter. I think. You should also add gardenias somewhere on your property for such beautiful aroma

Keep in mind if you put a vine to grow on your fence it can be a problem if you need to work on that fence and it will block the view of your house and the sculptured beds. But if do honeysuckle smells great and would look great,take care!!

You might want to plant your roses before it freezes there. They will freeze above ground in the pots. Put them in the ground and mulch them well or put them in a greenhouse for the winter.
