You're a phucking beast bro!!!! Thanks for posting this!!! Also, invest in a vinyl cutter. I commend you for cutting all that out by hand but the Vinyl Cutter will make it so much easier!!! keep up the great work!!!!

Hello, and thanks so very much for your awesome video. Been wondering for a while now how I can make my own RGB bracket. Was just wondering, though. Do you mind telling me what blade you use in your drop saw please? Also, do you mind telling me what GRIT and paper or Wet N Dry paper did you use on your orbital sander? Also, not to sure if you know this? You can get Exacto knives now that cut corners, circles etc precisely. I bought one on eBay a few weeks back. If you would like a link to one, just let me know. Thanks again!
@victor_belo3 жыл бұрын
Hi CybaGirl. Glad to know me video helped you. The saw blade is used are the ff: Miter Saw: Diablo 7 1/4" 40 tooth Finishing Blade; Circular Saw: Diablo 6" 40 tooth Trim blade. That is only the available blades I have but if you are cutting acrylic sheets the higher tooth count the better. For the Grit of the sand paper: I started rough around 80 to clean the sharp edges of the acrylic and finished around 240/320 grit. I just need it to be "Cloudy" so the light will be diffused better. Thank you for the tip I will take note about it. It was an impulse project by watching videos on YT and I used what ever materials and tools laying around the house XD Good luck on your project and link me up should you created a video as well~

@@victor_belo Hi and thanks for taking the time to reply to me. I am not ready to make my own just yet. Still need to buy some tools etc. But as soon as I create my own RGB bracket you will be the first to know :). Thanks again, stay safe and take care.

@victor_belo2 жыл бұрын
The strip I used is a 12v 4pin RGB 5050 strip. However you might want to check your motherboard if how many pins are the rgb port.

Have you seen the company V1 they make these same back plates , do you know if they are using 3D printers for the designs ?
@victor_belo3 жыл бұрын
I just saw the company V1, I think they use a machine to make the design. Something that can easily cut design. but definitely not 3d printer, unless it was customize to cut :)

Which is better place to place rgb strip side or top of acrylic sheet
@victor_belo3 жыл бұрын
Hi Venkatesh, I think it's better to put the acrylic on the side to lessen the thickness of the backplate. Just make sure you sand the acrylic so the light will diffuse better.

Could putting something like a custom Backplate on your GPU cause heating problems? I really want to make one and follow this tutorial but I need an answer. Thanks!
@victor_belo2 жыл бұрын
Hi Noah, sorry for the late response. I have read that it only increase the temp by a fraction and is almost negligible. I was not able to monitor it anymore as I have removed it because I installed a big cpu cooling heatsink which blocks the gpu backplate design.

@beefybarbarian77793 жыл бұрын
its just black vinyl wrap. comes in sheets or you can buy large rolls if ya plan on multiple projects. Can get it just about anywhere. Amazon, wal-mart, target, Kohls etc. Got mine from Walmart really cheap
@victor_belo3 жыл бұрын
as @@beefybarbarian7779 the black and white stuff are called Vinyl. You can easily find them online in rolls and quite cheap.

what RBG strips did you use? and are they MSI softwear compatible
@victor_belo3 жыл бұрын
Hi Reptillian, the RGB strips I used is a regular 12V RGB LED Strip (since I will connect it to 12V 4 pin LED controller) if you are planning to connect it directly to your motherboard I suggest looking for 5V Addressable RGB LED Strip (3 pins).

Ignoring time and effort, how much did this project roughly cost? I'm wondering if its worth doing for my graphics card which is already 6-7 years old XD
@victor_belo3 жыл бұрын
I can't remember the total cost because I was using some leftover materials. The one that should cost the most is the Acrylic sheet. If you will be able to buy a cut size of it, it will greatly reduce the cost of the project. The next expensive item will be the LED strip - if you can buy in Aliexpress you can find cheaper option with the expense of delivery time. Aside from that all other materials are cheaper (Vinyl, Acrylic glue, sandpaper).
