Gorgeous lotion! I'm enjoying my coffee infused oil. I made simple coffee body oil too today and it's super nice. Macadamia white chocolate lotion is also my new favorite. Scent blend is to die for and it is cool alternative to emulsified body butters. Thank you! xx

I'm excited to see a lotion formula with that emulsifier, I bought it for one of your body butters and have been wondering how to work it into a thinner viscosity product.

Hope you like it! Also-have you ever looked up Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate in the Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/)? There's a list of lots of formulations I've shared that use it ❤️ I do this for every ingredient!

Thank you for sharing!! Are you checking the ph during this process too? I was wondering at want points? Before the preservative?
@HumblebeeAndMe3 жыл бұрын
I'm not-it would be in the video if I had :) I don't do secret off-camera stuff :P I do with some formulations, but it wasn't required for this formulation as it didn't contain any really pH-sensitive ingredients.

Can you make some new videos with a different emulsifier instead of PEG?
@ayalightfire40303 жыл бұрын
I tried this yesterday and... failed? It's a lovely lotion but very thick despite me using the specified emulsifying wax. Is it possible to over blend lotions? I'm quite new to making lotions. Anyway. It feels great o my skin and smells delicious. Thanks for sharing the formulation :) Maybe next time I'll do better
@GreatMindsSeekTruth3 жыл бұрын
Id think you need to add more oil to it. Cocoa butter hardens very easily. I thought I ruined a body butter I made. I put it in a pot of water & re- melted it, added more oil, whipped it up & it came out perfect!
@ayalightfire40303 жыл бұрын
@@GreatMindsSeekTruth thank you :) I'll try that next time. This batch I have repotted. It's thick but useable. Just not made for a pump top 🤷
@clarewhite30043 жыл бұрын
If you live in a cool area, that might explain your results being thicker than expected.

This sounds amazing! But is there a similar preservative to the liquid germall plus, that is easily accessible in the UK? (Edit) I've read the blog posts on preservatives but I'm still not sure as to what preservative would be best.

Hi everyone. I know this isn’t related to this video but I am learning in mixing DIY body products. My first product will be a cuticle oil. With the research I have done so far, it’s been hard to find out whether I can use multiple essential oils in my recipe. 84% of it would be carrier oils and the remaining would be essential oils and vitamin E. I have them each under the maximum concentration but still wondering whether it is still safe to mix in 14 different essential oils into it?
@kimberleymoss84003 жыл бұрын
14% EO is way too much. If you want to use 14 different EOs you’d need to make a master blend and find out the dermal limit for it
@laurakuhlmann37523 жыл бұрын
@@kimberleymoss8400 I have all my EOs under their respective dermal limits. Some just happen to have a relatively high one. i.e. eucalyptus with 20% or Rosemary with 16.6%. Most of them are concentrated at below 1% or even 0.5%
@HumblebeeAndMe3 жыл бұрын
Kimberley is correct-14% is WAY too much essential oil for such a formulation, even if each one is under its individual dermal limit. There's a lot more to essential oil blending than just staying under each essential oils individual limit; there are IFRA allergen limits that can easily be exceeded because the allergens are present in multiple essential oils. You can learn more from Tisserand (htisserandinstitute.org/safety-guidelines/), but generally speaking you'd want to stay under 2-4%. I usually work below 1%. I've become sensitized to some essential oils and it's a major, irreversible, life-long bummer :(

What do you mean by "coffee oil roasted" is that an oil like coconut oil that was heated with coffee beans inside of it to infuse it? Wouldn't it be a preservation problem?
@HumblebeeAndMe3 жыл бұрын
You'll find the answer to your question in the blog post that's linked in the description box below the video ;) If you're not sure what that means, read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/. Happy making!
