Probably the final final video related to the Craftsman 100 10" table saw. Thought I was done, but decided on one more addition. A riving knife!
For anyone who followed the CM 100 restoration series, you might remember that I was able to find an original blade guard. Unfortunately, the blade guard sits about 2" above the table top due to how it mounts. As a result, I won't be using it. However, when you look at the components, it actually contains would would today be considered a riving knife. So, I put my thinking cap on.
I decided to make my own riving knife based on the original blade guard. As I was doing so, the thought of a splitter came to mind as I had been looking at splitters that get attached to zero insert blade covers. I don't want or need a zero insert cover, but I kind of like the idea of a splitter.
So this video is my attempts as creating 3 ideas: a full size riving knife, a smaller riving knife and finally a splitter. Happy with the results!
