DIY Rock Sliders with Quarantine time Tacoma

Over the last few days I have worked on a project to make rock sliders for my off-road Tacoma. Everything was free handed no rhyme or rhythm to the build. They look awesome but why wouldn’t you cap the open ends? Kinda defeats the purpose of painting it if water and mud can rust it from the inside out.

I like the low profile, blends with frame nicely. Need to get on with the same kinda project for my rig. Need swing away tire/assessories rack for rear. Bumpers front & rear for more clearance.

Got a Y2K ZR2 Chevy. Bought it from the original owner. Just put new Goodyear m+s a/t tires on er. 4.3 six, running strong. Still getting it dialed in.

Jesse Rodriguez it’s going to vary from truck to truck, but I would say measure the length of your rocker and make it that length

lifting your tires off the ground = weight of the vehicle like rock sliders are intended also giving you the ability to change your tires. all you did was lift some of the body weight. and im pretty sure you know that...unsure if they would actually hold up to lifting tires off the ground? assuming yes. atleast they look good i guess.

Miah Oneluv13t4r Yeah I completely understand your concerns! When I made this video the sliders were not entirely bolted to the frame I’ve since finished bolted them, and I can assure you they are completely capable of holding the vehicles weight

@roughpatchroad6695 did you bolt on or weld to the frame? I have a chevy 2500 ive heard that it is a hardened frame so im not sure i can weld to, or if i can drill it safely. Its tough to find info on. 😕

Worked out well, I ended up selling the vehicle. But I am planning that for my 4runner

Get what you pay for.. if you want quality hit up Bash Fabrication. They will do DIY if you message them but have full bolt ONS ready to go and just released a slimline bumper for the 5th gen T4Rs. wait time also isn't 90 days. Maybe a month

Patrick Amos Not to hard to make man do you know anyone with a welder, if you precut everything in advance I’m sure you can have a buddy or Craigslist welder weld it cheap
