This is my favorite type of roof. Thank you for the information, Channing. I love that when you and your team learn anything, you pass it on in a way that I can easily understand it! Thanks again!

It’s always a tough balance finding the right balance of strength vs cost! We never want to sell something that may fail and/or get someone hurt!

Good luck on it. Reach out with any questions. Make sure you use spray foam!!

@TheContainerGuyTV Thank you and will do. But just as a reminder, can you advise as to where best apply the spray foam on the container considering I am in Puerto Rico? Thanks, and so to bother.

That’s a great idea for Florida. I lost my shed to the hurricane and want to replace it with something that won’t fly away 😊

I'm sorry to hear.. These shouldn't go too far in a storm. Especially if you rip the floor out and pour concrete in its place. Handles 220+ mph winds before tipping over with a low centre of gravity from the concrete.

I got a few container projects going on, I only use 40 ft high cube reefer containers though. I know the cost is higher, but you get the full insulated package and can skip on interior framing, the walls are stainless, low maintenance, or you can paint them if you want. But for the most part, self tapping wood to metal screws hold all the conduits, and fixtures and allow anchoring to the walls, couple it with some loctite pl construction adhesive, and things aren't coming loose. I would like to add a 2nd story to one, with a roof deck and small room up top, like a guest room, or hunting/lookout/predator control. My latest, I plan to put 18x 400 watt solar panels on 2 different ones, for total of 36x 400 watt solar for 14400 watts of soar. Or 7200 per container.

Starting with reefers is smart

The brackets are definitely priced fairly. I have a waterjet and a brake and I would buy these before trying to make them.

I really love the way you modify these containers. Gives me a lot of ideas. I haven't searched about it but what about a used one? What kind of treatment should one give? Does it worth it??? I really would like to know. Thanks and keep up the great work you do!!! 👍👍👍✊✊✊

Depends on what you find! If it’s still in good shape without much rust and the doors are working fine you can get away painting it up. If you are planning on it lasting awhile though it’s always best to use a One-Time Use container!

Could you show the construction of the patio on top of this small container? Thanks, Bill
@TheContainerGuyTV10 сағат бұрын
We have some videos coming out that will feature more details on the construction with these brackets. We aren't pros with wood though.. we figured out the general procedure to convert from steel to wood but then framers/carpenters should take it from there.

Question, why wouldn’t you paint a white reflective paint with a sealer in it? That way you don’t have that much heat being produced on that top, I would like a 40 to 53’ container and put at least 10+ of solar on top of it.
@TheContainerGuyTV10 сағат бұрын
If you're doing solar, use a urethane paint which has high UV resistance and remains reflective for a long time. Use bifacial solar panels so the sun reflects off the roof of the container and into the back of the panels.

Not everybody's got a table saw. Couldn't you just make taller brackets for one side instead of having to slope-cut the lumber?
@TheContainerGuyTVКүн бұрын
Or a shim.. Or clamp down a guide and use a skill saw. Or if you're not a wood person, use steel studs. These brackets are meant to let the woodworkers out there avoid welding and use their tools/techniques to be successful in modifying containers.
