Bello! Avete optato per questa soluzione per essere in regola con le misure? (Rimanere all'Interno della sagoma dell'auto) o ci sono anche altri vantaggi rispetto alla struttura che avevate prima? (Quali: peso ecc...)
@SearchingtheOutback2 жыл бұрын
Grazie 😊!

@SearchingtheOutback Жыл бұрын
Ciao Gabriele, non siamo andati avanti perche il sistema è troppo complicato e pesante…dopo varie prove il miglior compromesso rimane quello della versione KARMA, trovi tutte le info qui 😉 campup.it

The static weight limit It is absolutely not exceeded. We Made it on purpose to be light and applicable to most cars.

This setup is kinda useless and ... All You did was adding unnecesarry weight on top of the center of gravity while You still need to setup tent manually. You travel with heavy, useless platform on the top of the car, making it more unstable, heavier, with more wind resisatance and worse mileage. Why dont You just set up a tent on the ground instead? It will be faster and more versatile, because with tent on the ground you can move your car around and leave campsite for a while with your tent set up waiting for You. DOnt get me wrong - I like DIY ideas and projets, I did alot of my camping stuff myself and I do a lot of camping in really different areas and terrain. I do get idea of rooftop tent but only when it is easy and fast to deploy. You just drive around with heavy, clunky wooden platform od your roof and still need to set up tent on it. It is even harder and takes a lot more time than set it on the ground. For me this is really cool DIY projest, but idea itself has no sense and no realm value in offroading. You just mahke Your like harder with that - cost, weight, fuel consumption, need to klimb on the ladder, longer time to deploy, worse acces to name the few.

Valid points, however there are advantages too. A roof tent provides protection against snakes, spiders, wild animals and dificultes acces to intruders. Less mug on rainy seasons. Better sightseeing from your tent. Tree-house like experience, wich is just cool and fun. The execution of this DIY is just not for me, I saw other designs that suit me better and for a fraction of the cost..

Those appointments can be used for any rooftop tents in the market, but this project is way more practical and cheaper, besides the advantage of being handmade and very easy to replicate at home. And it can be setup in other places with no possibility of put a tent on the floor, like a gas station or a wet ground, or even a city... The advantages are way too good to be not taken into consideration, and for just a fraction of the price to buy any simple motorhome or a premade rooftop tent.

The CAMPUP concept is to be a rack that, when needed also becomes the base for a tent (Maybe the one you already have at home and use on the ground). Sometimes it is better to sleep on the floor (per say with high wind) but sleeping up is way better for humidity, dirt which does not get insiede and wild animals.
