Hey David! Thanks for sharing this, it all turned out super nice. I'll definitely check for belts when I'm out thrifting later today!!

Overall this project was fairly easy if you paint the bells or buy them pre-rusted but if you don't wanna go through all that work Hobby Lobby sells a similar 5 bell strand on sale for $5 www.hobbylobby.com/Christmas/Home-Decor-Pillows/Wall-Decor/Brown-Faux-Leather-Jingle-Bell-Decor/p/80805932

Looks great ! There’s also a little kit that Hobby Lobby has that creates real rust - I love rust, so I use it a lot - it’s a two part process - the first coat actually has iron particles in it then you spray on the second part which causes a chemical reaction which makes it rusty - I often use paint, though, too - usually craft paint & I usually use several different colors

That sounds very interesting!!!! I may have to check out that kit! Cause HOBBY LOBBY is my store

@@DavidOwenCreates I think you would love it ! It’s in the craft paint aisle by Special Effects - you can even rust paper because of the iron in the base coat - I love rust ! Keep up the great work - I subscribed !

@@DavidOwenCreates That rust stuff I wrote you about - I pulled it out & it is by Modern Master Metal Effects Rust - it is actually 3 steps - I forgot about the primer - it is $21.99 for the 3 pc box - I’m sure I used a coupon !

It would be a great idea to do this in the bathtub. Then if it spills over, easy cleanup!

Yes absolutely

Where did you buy the developer? Does it leave the bells with a powdery surface? Didn't look like it. I think the developer prevents powdery surface.

I would say to skip the developer it isn’t necessary, vinegar and salt will work best

Try cinnamon spinkle a little on when paint is still wet.

An easier solution would be to put the items in a bucket of water and let it sit. The cheap metal will rust in no time.

Hey there. I do think it sounds easier but I think it would take a very long time for this, which is why I used other weird chemicals to accelerate the process. Hope this helps
