Steve Good gave a link to your scroll saw video a while back. I just bought a new Pegas 21 inch scroll saw to replace my DeWalt788 which died on me. I remembered it, found the link and bought your plan. You plan looks great and I think I will have a good time adapting it for my new saw. It’s like apiece of Shaker furniture- simple, practical and yet elegant at the same time. Just subscribed to your KZbin channel. Keep the great stuff coming!

Hi Michael - Thanks for getting the plans! Congrats on the new saw, that's a nice one. I had fun designing that stand. I didn't like sitting on a stool, so I wanted one that was regular chair height. The forward tilt is easier on the neck too. I'd love to see a picture of your stand when you are done. I like seeing what customizations people do, like paint jobs and different storage ideas.

Just finished building this stand. I am just putting together a woodshop and needed a more functional stand for my Dewalt scroll saw. Very easy build with the plans and I got it done in one day. Thanks for making it simple and functional for us beginners. Keep up the good work Steve!

Hi John! Thanks for the msg. Glad you were able to use the plans to build one. I love rolling my stand outside to cut on nice days. The Harbor Freight momentary footswitch is a good addition if you don't have one, so I suggest using that instead of turning the switch on/off a lot.

Good ideal. Like the tilt design. Shelves are a nice thought also, with storage for blades and whatever else is related to a scroll saw. I'm a hobby wood worker just looking at a Dewalt DW788. This stand just scrapped the ideal of buying the saw/stand combo which is $130 extra.
@bigredkayak18 жыл бұрын
I like the way you have the saw tilted so you can sit and use it. Scroll saw projects sometimes take a while, and why stand when you can sit? Your videos are always interesting and entertaining and keep things moving. Not everyone produces woodworking videos that hold my interest.

Just purchased your plans Steve and I plan to build the stand this weekend. I think that I will modify the plans a bit. Steve - this is my first time to see a video by you - referred to here by Steve Good @ Scrollsaw Workshop. First, kudos on a very well done video. It's really nice how you introduced small 'pieces' of the project, then had video to show the cutting, assembly, etc. Then you introduced another small 'piece, and so on... When the video is interesting and easy to follow, you keep the viewer's attention, and you have done a really great job with that. The stand itself appears to be very nicely designed, and it's great how it is adaptable to different user heights and different saws. I'm really impressed by the quality of your video and the stand, so as of today I'm a subscriber and watching more of your videos is high on my to-do list!

Very nice design and build video. Perhaps instead of using riser blocks for the tilt, just build in the tilt with shorter front pieces. This may further reduce the vibration. This could be made so the tilt is adjustable. I have found a tilt of about 5° works out well for me. Also, has anyone tried turning it 180° and having the narrow end in front? More room for your legs.

@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
@@SteveCarmichael I know I am slow, but I did make one of these stands for my saw, and I must say I love it, I did not put the drawers in the bottom like you did, I just left them as shelves, For the time being that is where I store my sanders, small hand held sanders, extra sand paper and a small belt sander. At the back of the stand I also made that a shelf area as well, so it is basically a smaller vertical cube with two shelves as well, it works perfectly to hold the DeWalt sanders and since its square the square extra sanding disc, that come in the square packages stack neatly in them as well. This was a really fun project, sorry for my delay in replying, I was going to post some pics to your blog, but it looks like I can only comment there, I might see if you have instagram and tag you there. Thanks again for sharing the video with us and I hope you have a blessed week. PS, I needed up coming back here this morning after doing some more research on inevitable cnc machine, Im still not convinced I need one, but I think it would be handy to have, when I was watching you make the serving tray it reminded me I have not commented back on this video since I made the saw stand. thanks again sir, and have a blessed week Dale
